The Boston Store opened in Utica in 1918. In 1941 the store moved into a new building that filled almost the entire block between Genesee, Bleecker, Charlotte and Oriskany Streets in downtown Utica. The Boston Store closed on Christmas Eve in 1976.
What's shown here is the recently (sometime after 2019) uncovered facade at the corner of Bleecker and Charlotte Streets. The main entrance was on Genesee Street, which looked like this in the mid-1950s. The Genesee Street facade currently has faux windows of mirrored glass.
After the NYC Photobloggers 2 event at the Apple Store SOHO, I decided to take a few pictures of the place, especially this cool glass bridge they have spanning the second floor.
This picture was taken just as an Apple Store employee informed me that picture taking was not allowed in the store.
LOL.
I got too excited about going to "The Pig". I've never been in one. I bought a souvenir Piggy Wiggily Mascot and some Sauer's Chicken Seasoning (Gary's recommendation)

Watertown Ohio was the fourth stop on an enjoyable Sunday afternoon of photography with Flickr friend John Bowman, of interesting sights on or near SR 676 outside Marietta Ohio
The store is no longer open for business but has a very classic front facade characteristic of General Stores from an era gone by.
In spite of my best efforts I was unable to get a good pic of the store without the electrical lines included.
