My wife let me stop in to the LEGO store on our way to her folk's place for the 4th. She also let me buy the Green Grocer, since I didn't buy any LEGO during our engagement.
Seattle still has (as of late 2010) an independent Apple store - as well as the corporate Apple stores.)

An abandoned combination crossroads store and dwelling. Once these old stores were the centers of their communities; sources of groceries, hardware as well as news and gossip! With the coming of improved roads and national chain stores, commerce went elsewhere and these wonderful old buildings were abandoned and allowed to go slowly to ruin. Where once there was so much life, there is now only the dust and the wind and a whisper of the past. (This store in Adlina, Maryland, was demolished shortly after my photographs were made.)
this is what I bought last time I went to the Lego store (this summer). the reason that I post it so late is that I forgot about the photo's and recently found them back.
most thinks are for construction or for water, besides that I also got 4 exo suits, three to sell and one to keep and a lot of wheels for a scrapyard project I want to do in the future.
to everyone that hasn't already got a exosuit I say, be fast with buying one because this can't stay out of your collection for it is such a nice build (it's just like building a moc with all the nice techniques and everything).
A pair of Stanier 4P 2-6-4 tanks stored at an unknown location in early 1967.One of the locos is clearly 42656,the other I can't quite make out.

The configuration of these grain silos is interesting from most angles. The store is on the northern edge of the Fenland town of March in Cambridgeshire. I'd like to climb up and sketch the store from somewhere on the top walkways — but I'm too old now for that sort of thing — and no doubt, the health & safety brigade would want me locked up If I tried it anyway. Shame.
The Rosenberg Dept. Store was the earliest retail business in Granite City having been established in 1893. The store was located at the corner of 19th and State Street. In 1935, the Rosenberg store was remodeled by the new owners and called the Leader Department Store. This photograph can also be seen in the book "Granite City: A Pictorial History."
1115 6th Street. The business went through several name changed over the years. In the 1930s, the company was known as Ambrose's Dry Goods and Ready-to-Wear. During the the 1940-1950s, it was known as Ambrose's Store. In 1960-1970s, it was called Ambrose Department Store. The business closed in the late 1980s. Photo taken in 1961.

The entry to the country store at Kimball Farm in Westford. I took this from the other side of the street and I could barely see over the snowbank on the side of the road. Still, I love the way teh light came out in this and it just feels warm inside.
