Re-inventing my shopping mall. This is the clothing store so far.

WEEK 24 – Overstock Southaven (I)

(cont.) If the name sounds familiar to you, that’s because I posted a handful of updates regarding Overstock to my photostream twice before, once when they first opened up shop, and a second time when they swapped their banner for the more quasi-permanent looking signage you saw in the previous photo. If you forgot their story, Overstock is a discount furniture store “chain” – supposedly nationwide, but with a low profile – that seems to operate primarily as a “temporary tenant,” occupying vacant big boxes until the landlords are able to secure a new, permanent tenant. In other words, Overstock just keeps the space warm in the interim :P Overstock makes a little money, landlords don’t have to deal with an empty store, everybody wins. (cont.)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

How I got thrown out of the Apple Store in Glasgow for being on the phone while holding a notebook. I did have my camera around my neck, but the lens cap was on. I was told that the people who post photos of Apple products on Flickr are going to be "contacted". I was also told that Apple "have people" who take care of their "image" online and people are not allowed to take photographs of Apple products and post said photos online.

MOC: Modular LEGO Store. Based on the LEGO Brand Retail Store set that has been used as a giveaway at store openings over the past couple of years, but blown up to minifig scale.

And yes, I know that the original set isn't a corner building, but I just hadn't built one yet and needed one for a layout I was working on :)

The BNSF yard in Minneapolis provides storage for many locomotives. In this view thirty four mainly SD75M's are seen here basking in the very early morning sunshine. The most prominent locomotive here being SD45-2 6470. it seems that the locomotives stored are rotated from time to time with others currently in use.

First Edition Disney Store Merida with the famous "green nose" problem. I bought her nude and second hand.

Her nose, the ears, hands, feet, knees and chin were green (production fail), and her hair was a bit frizzy. Result after 2 weeks work :)

This was once a strip club and then it was a liquor store. Maybe it should have made better life choices.

New 85,000 sq.ft. Target store that will open on September 17th 2013. A former Zellers.

A somewhat depressed looking store in Columbus-area, still hanging onto the early 1980's "shelf-like" roof awning that appeared on many stores of this vintage. This one was lucky enough to escape the "BIG" branding so many are stuck with today.

Georgetown is a town in the Mid North region of South Australia. The town is in the Northern Areas Council, 196 kilometres (122 mi) north of the state capital, Adelaide on the Horrocks Highway (Main North Road). At the 2006 census, Georgetown had a population of 119.

Georgetown was one of the first towns to be surveyed in the upper Mid North when the Strangways Act was passed in 1869 to authorise resumption of pastoral leases to enable closer settlement for more intensive farming purposes. It was surveyed in 1869, along with Redhill. It was the seat of the District Council of Georgetown from 1876 to 1988, but following two successive amalgamations with neighbouring councils, it is now part of the Northern Areas Council.

Georgetown was on the Gladstone railway line from Adelaide. This was constructed in 1894 as 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) narrow gauge. It was converted to 5 ft 3 in (1,600 mm) broad gauge in 1927 and closed in 1988.

Another haul from the Disney store.... And I went a bit crazy.lol but the 8$ sale ends Sunday, and I wanted some for future projects, and some for characters I didn't have. I love my new mother gothel!! She has high color makeup, and looks more sinister then my other gothel. I had to get gaston, because we haven't been getting him in our shipments, so that means we might not be getting anymore. And we only had two. So I bought the nicest one of course;). I chose the older Pocahontas because I think she is a tad but better then the new Pocahontas, and has better hair then the new Pocahontas. I got the old Phillip, and John smith because they look better to me compared to the new versions. I also got a beast and belle and a Cinderella mug I've had my eyes on for ever! Luckily the mug was only $3!

SEARS Department Store known as SEARS OLYMPIC as it is located at Olympic and Soto in East Los Angeles, Southern California. This Department Store location was originally co-located with SEARS' Catalog Warehouse. It was one of several Catalog Warehouses across the county. At this location was also a Catalog Warehouse Outlet Store until the 1970's+. The Catalog Warehouse moved to a new building, leaving a majority of the complex empty. In 2000+ there was discussion after new owners bought the property to restore the building with housing and adding a shopping complex, which was to include SEARS and a K-Mart. However, K-Mart fell into bankruptcy. In a twist of fate, after K-Mart reorganized, they took over the SEARS name and the SEARS chain. The famous boxer, Oscar De La Hoya and a group of partners purchased the site with an eye to redevelop it. Early AM photo of SEARS taken on 08/30/2007.

I saw someone else's photo of this corner store on Flickr a while back and finally got some shots of it. This little store is out in Burnaby and looks to be doing quite well. I took a few different angles but I like this closeup the best!
