Celebrating my 9th piece of modern architecture in the archiBRICKture series, the modular LEGO Store is a colorful and clean building where both adults and kids will find all the joy with the LEGO bricks!
The design rips off all colors except on the front door, above where you can find all the different colors of LEGO bricks, the signature of this brand. Next to the door is the giant wooden sculpture of minifigure, and people will have no difficulty to locate the store!
The new building introduces different curves and round corners to soften the block massing, giving the facade a subtle but interesting look. The curves also go around the facade cut-out for the minifigure statue and the glass wall behind it, which allows sunlight to enter the shop.
There are 3 floors and a rooftop. Inside, you can find all the popular box sets including the latest ones, a Pick-A-Brick corner, a children play area and a LEGO factory machine display. On the rooftop, you can have some refreshments, or share ideas if there is any MOC event.
So now you have a new place to haunt, what are you waiting for?
A somewhat depressed looking store in Columbus-area, still hanging onto the early 1980's "shelf-like" roof awning that appeared on many stores of this vintage. This one was lucky enough to escape the "BIG" branding so many are stuck with today.
The Tidball Store building in Jolon, California.
It was flaming hot the day I took this photo and I thought the bit of texture and the color kind of reinforced that feeling.
The town of Jolon was founded around 1860 and burned to the ground in 1929 leaving only a small group of buildings including this store.

Intercity Buses Setra S215HR SX 456 was apparently stored when photographed at Deryneia on Cyprus on November 24th 2017. The curtains pulled to protect the interior from the Mediterranean sun is a clue. Owned by Intercity Buses this coach was new in the UK back in April 1984 as Wahl, London SE5 A113 UYN.

A fixture in Delaware, Ohio, since 1969, the store relocated from a few blocks to the east back in 1986. The store's last day was February 13, 2016.
This is the tile work on the men's room floor. I was trying to adjust my camera settings and took a random shot, but I do like the tile work.

This location opened in fall 2007 and closed in March 2021; it was originally Island Rattan, which opened on November 17th, 2000 and closed in the mid 2000s.
A vase and some plates for my bigger dolls like my Dollikins or Kirsten, my AG.
Thought the vase could work with the Victorian style sofa I found.
I plan to paint over the balloons so the plates are just plain white.

Our store power went out this night two hours before closing. We had to get all customers out and shut down the store and move refrigerated stuff to the main cooler and then they got dry ice.
Cover I did for Thrill Jockey's Record Store Day 12" compilation (exclusive unreleased songs from Double Dagger, Tortoise, Trans Am, Mountains, and White Hills) that will only be available in independent record stores, ltd to 1000 copies. The other cover is being screen printed by Dan MacAdam from Crosshair in Chicago.
Not sure if these will be the colors it prints in, these are approximated.

Mendosa's, the local grocery and hardware store, recently expanded and resurfaced this wonderful old linoleum tile floor from 1950 something.

I asked these young gals to walk through for me to add action to the scene
I saw this abandoned store as I was driving through southeast Virginia, south of the James River.
The building is on Route 10, just across from the Brandon Cemetery.
I don't know what doll this is, but she came with Stormer. She's cute though. She was also nude but I put something together
Church Hill, Mississippi
The store was constructed in 1837 and is the oldest standing wooden general store that contained a post office in the southeast. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with the rest of Church Hill.
The post office, zip 39055, was closed September 30, 1992. Mr Adolph Wagner, Jr. served as the last Postmaster, starting December 30, 1963.
