The Cordray Drug Store is located at 3827 Ave L, in Galveston, Texas.
Ashley and Michael Cordray, stars of the show "Restoring Galveston" opened the 'rolled' ice cream shop in June 2022.
Judy and I watch the show and were excited to visit the shop. The ice cream was delicious! We look forward to going back.

A number of Class 125 DMU vehicles in March yard on 22 June 1978. These had been withdrawn from Finsbury Park (FP) depot a few months earlier, presumably following the electrification of the suburban lines out of Kings Cross, and the introduction of new Class 313 emus. The vehicles pictured were scrapped at Doncaster Works, Booths (Rotherham) or Birds (Long Marston). I think some of these vehicles were at March for a few years, as I saw a report that 5 of the driving trailers present (51001/51004/51006/51163/51169/51173) were in Doncaster Works awaiting scrapping in March 1981.
A full list of the other stock present was: 50991/50994/50995/51155/51160, 59449/59454/59457/59458/59459/59461/59463/59465/59467/59468
59468 is nearest the camera in my photo. This had been new, from Derby Works in September 1959 and was withdrawn (from FP) in January 1977. 59468 was scrapped at Booths.

This Base Exchange shopping facility was located at the junction of Mons Road and Festubert Blvd. Shopping outlets included a Grocery Store, a Smoke Shop, a Men's and Women's Clothing Store, a Barber Shop, a Beauty Parlour, a Variety Store, Cleaning and Banking facilities. A civilian doctor also had an office in the Plaza.

Camp Petawawa is 10 miles north of this (Pembroke) community, about 100 miles northwest of Ottawa Merchants in contact with base personnel say Canadian Armed Forces Exchange Services (CANEX) will soon replace Maple Leaf Services as a retail outlet to serve the forces and would sell at prices that would drive competitors into bankruptcy. Replying to a Pembroke chamber of commerce inquiry, Defence Minister Cadieux wrote that CANEX had been approved in principle. Authority has been given to form a planning group to examine the many aspects in this field including welfare, recreation merchandising. The department has no intention of engaging in unusual business practices, the minister wrote. If it does compete with private enterprise, it will not compete unfairly. It would be several months before CANEX would begin to take over management of existing non-public facilities and functions. Legacy Village is a lifestyle center that opened in 2003 and was originally anchored by Galyan's (now Dick's), Giant Eagle, Expo Design Center (now Nordstrom Rack and LA Fitness), Joseph-Beth Bookseller's (now Z Gallerie), and Crate & Barrel. A lot of the original tenants have been changed over the years. The shopping center orginally focused on stores that at the time had no locations in Ohio, since those made up the majority of the original tenants. In 2016, A Hyatt Place Hotel was built in the shopping center.

Found this set of little cuties at the thrift store yesterday for 0.99. They don't seem that old, maybe repros? Not sure, but too cute to pass up and they look nice on my Christmas shelf. I also found a bag of vintage felt including this green. It is so much nicer than newer synthetic felt and I don't access to much wool felt. This vintage stuff is thin and I hope to make Betsy McCall a winter set with it.

Moorestown N.J. Kmart, one of the last surviving Kmarts in the area. Originally opened as an E.J.Korvette store in March 1971. Korvettes closed here early in 1975, Kmart opened in October 1976. Kmart reduced the store's size to 100,000 square feet from Korvettes gigantic 150,000 SF, creating two additional retail spaces.

I think we’ve seen an overly healthy amount of that produce sign by now, so here’s a shot facing the other direction for a change, haha! Here our view stretches all the way out of the produce department and over to the opposite side of the building, where the pharmacy counter is located. We’ll make our way over there eventually!
Also noteworthy in this view is the little restrooms corridor right between the vestibule and the beginning of the produce department: there you can see the new fresh and local hanging sign, which as Northwest Retail has pointed out before, is so cleverly designed with the way it has that arrow built into it. (At least, I’m pretty sure he’s said that, but of course I can’t find any proof of it now that I’ve gone looking…)

Changing times. This general store in the tiny hamlet of Ashton has been in business since 1841 or 1851. The sign outside says 1851, but one source has it as 1841 with the post office being added in 1851. The store sells food supplies and knick knacks, lends books, is a coffee shop and meeting place as well as a post office. There will be no store as of tomorrow.

The historic Lanes grocery store on Elizabeth Street, Alviso, has finally collapsed under its own weight. I discovered this after I came back from Japan. It was a sad ending as the wooden structure had survived so many storms and floods in the past. I guess the last storm really nailed its coffin. Behind it is the Victorian Tiden-Laine house built in 1887 by Susan Ortley Tilden.
Out of the woods. I do occasionally get out of the woods. This adventure was for a gallery opening in Easton, PA.

From - TORRY'S BOOK STORE, New Glasgow, NS - Torry’s Book Store was owned and operated by James "Jim" Burton Torey and his brothers, William "Will" Henry Torry and Jonathan "Jon" Torry, over a period of about 50 years. The store was located at 144 Provost Street in New Glasgow directly opposite the Goodmans store, in the left hand side of the H.L.P. McNeill building. The ground floor retail space was devoted to stationery, periodicals, books, prints, postcards and other dry goods, Waterman & Carter pens, the wallpaper, gifts, china, toys, party supplies and even fireworks sold from the second story. In the autumn of 1874, the year of the great fire, the two congregations got together and formed the United Church. They continued to worship in. Knox Church until January 9, 1876, when the present building was opened and occupied. Rev. Mr. Walker was minister of the United Church until 1878, when he was relieved by the settlement of Rev. E. Scott, the congregation making Mr. Walker, Pastor Emeritus. Mr. Walker was a preacher of great ability and power. He was a most faithful minister, and in every way adorned his calling. He died Feb. 4, 1884, in the seventy-ninth year of his age. Rev. E. Scott, D. D. retired in 1891, and was succeeded by Rev. Anderson Rogers, D. D., who was pastor from July 1893 to March 1908. Rev. John H. MacVicar, D. D. was minister from December 10, 1908 to March 17, 1912. Rev. J. MaCartney Wilson, B. D., was inducted in May, 1913. Peter A. McGregor has been treasurer of the United Church since its organization, and, for three years was treasurer of Primitive Church.
First Baptist United Church, New Glasgow, N.S.
United Church congregations were formed by the minority Presbyterian groups in Pictou (St. Andrews and First) and New Glasgow (First, St. Andrew's and United which was soon called Westminster), in association with the Methodists. These became respectively Pictou United and Trinity United. For the minority groups which formed new congregations and purchased or erected church buildings, considerable financial sacrifice was involved.
Trinity Methodist in 1917 demolished its wooden building and replaced it with a brick structure, which opened in November 1918 in the pastorate of Rev. B. J. Porter. This building became Trinity Hall upon formation of Trinity United Church. Formation of the United Church ended the Methodist Church as such in Pictou County.
