Repeating the practice of previous summers the surviving ex Preston Olympians were stored at the far end of the Walton le Dale park and ride car park. Apparently they had been sold and were awaiting pick up. 102 looks a little leaky suspension-wise. They had all been in service on contracts after coming off stage carriage work on 31 December 2016.

This is my first RR picture of 2012 as well! I wonder what changes we'll see come to the industry this year...
Taken at night outside of a store in the Kenwood area of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This is one of the very first mannequins I ever took and it set me off on the road to obsession, a small part of which you can see in my "Mannequin Mania" album. At the time, I had no experience of shooting through glass and controlling reflections when doing so.
I was taking a photography class and had an assignment to shoot several pictures showing examples of various lighting = natural, artificial etc. When I saw this mannequin all lit up at night, I thought it would be a decent example of artificial lighting and had no idea where it might lead me in the future. With mannequins, I could shoot posed and well dressed women w/o having to ask them for permission (something I was a bit nervous about doing at that point).
Celebrating my 9th piece of modern architecture in the archiBRICKture series, the modular LEGO Store is a colorful and clean building where both adults and kids will find all the joy with the LEGO bricks!
The design rips off all colors except on the front door, above where you can find all the different colors of LEGO bricks, the signature of this brand. Next to the door is the giant wooden sculpture of minifigure, and people will have no difficulty to locate the store!
The new building introduces different curves and round corners to soften the block massing, giving the facade a subtle but interesting look. The curves also go around the facade cut-out for the minifigure statue and the glass wall behind it, which allows sunlight to enter the shop.
There are 3 floors and a rooftop. Inside, you can find all the popular box sets including the latest ones, a Pick-A-Brick corner, a children play area and a LEGO factory machine display. On the rooftop, you can have some refreshments, or share ideas if there is any MOC event.
So now you have a new place to haunt, what are you waiting for?
WEEK 11 – Vacation Photos
This is from 2014 – a Big Kmart in Charleston, SC that was set to close about a month later. This is the store I tried to get a Kmart sign from, and while the employees were nice about it, the manager wasn't (she was on her walkie-talkie-thingie but I'm not sure she realized she was only standing on the other side of the registers so I could see her roll her eyes and make up an answer). Stored in the former carriage shed at Llandudno Junction, Class 151 Metro-Cammell 3-car Prototype set 151 003 still displayed Derby on the blind.
The two British Rail Class 151 aluminium alloy bodied DMUs were in service on Regional Railways between 1985-89 for evaluation but the production contract was awarded for the BREL-built Class 150 units and they were withdrawn. Having been stored at Llandudno Junction they were acquired by Railtest (later Serco Railtest) for possible use but remained stored at Derby until purchased by Endeavour Rail in 2000. Their proposed refurbishment and use for hire did not progress and both units were scrapped in 2004.

For over 25 years, my parents had a carpet store on the square in downtown Cordell, Oklahoma.
In July 1969, I took several pictures inside their store.
800 W Central Ave, Delaware, OH
A fixture in Delaware, Ohio, since 1969, the store relocated from a few blocks to the east back in 1986. The store's last day was February 13, 2016.

I'm new to posting retail pics, so go easy on me. Also... There was a sign walking in about the media policy... so I tried to be careful and didn't get as many pics as I wanted.
Hopefully you guys will enjoy these though. This is a 1993 Target, with very little remodeling. Still has the original Color Worlds.. and Original Food Ave Signage. Kinda Cool :)

Someday I'm going to have a store
With a tinkly bell hung over the door,
With real glass cases and counters wide
And drawers all spilly with things inside.
There'll be a little of everything:
Bolts of calico; balls of string;
Jars of peppermint; tins of tea;
Pots and kettles; and crockery;
Seeds in packets; scissors bright;
Kegs of sugar, brown and white;
Sarsaparilla for picnic lunches,
Bananas and rubber boots in bunches.
I'll fix the window and dust each shelf,
And take the money in all myself,
It will be my store and I will say:
“What can I do for you today!”
Went to the San Antonio LEGO store today and picked up one large PaB cup and one small one. Today was a good day. ;)
DFZ2403 is one of seven former Queensland Railways 2300 class locomotives, transferred to Western Australia between 2007 and 2011. In 2026 the majority of them are stored out of service.
AB1504 is a former Western Australia Government Railways/Westrail locomotive. Six of these locomotives were introduced in 1970. AB1504 has also been stored at Forrestfield for a period.
On the 3rd of June 2026 these locomotives along with two others, were removed by road transport and sent for scrapping.
The major rail operators in Australia have a policy of exporting or scrapping surplus locomotives in order to prevent smaller domestic "competitiors" from obtaining them.

All four of the GB Railfreight long-term stored Class 92s in one shot 20 years to the day they all went into store. From left to right: 92046 "Sweelinck", 92021 "Purcell" (just visible behind 92046). 92040 "Goethe" and 92045 "Chaucer". All were stored on 24 April 2001.
The meat in the stored Class 92 sandwich on this day was provided by Class 319, 319427 which is part of the bi-mode Class 769 "Flex" programme.
The History of the Stored Class 92s at Brush:
021, 040, 045 and 046 are the remaining stored Class 92s in the GB Railfreight fleet – with all four having been stored for 20 years.
The Forgotten Four were part of the seven Class 92s originally owned by European Passenger Services (EPS) for use on the ill-fated Nightstar European sleeper service.
Up until April 2001, all of the EPS engines were used along with the rest of the Class 92 fleet as part of the common pool operated by EWS and based at Crewe ETD.
However, with the Nightstar project officially over, EPS offered their 92s for sale during 2000, but no buyers were found. Consequently, all seven were stored on 24 April 2001 - with 021, 040, 045 and 046 never having worked since.
021 and 040 were eventually purchased by Europorte (along with three other 92s) on 15 Feb 2007 from EPS for a total of £2m for the five locos (which cost £21m to build in 2007 prices).
021 and 040 remained stored and were moved by road from Crewe IEMD to Loughborough by Allelys in late July 2008. In Summer 2010, 021 and 040 moved to Cheriton where they remained for a while, before moving on to Coquelles/Frethun Eurotunnel Depot in Autumn 2011.
021 and 040 remained at Frethun Depot in store until being repatriated on 24/11/2018 and 08/12/2018 respectively for parts recovery and storage at Loughborough Brush.
The remaining two EPS 92s - 045 and 046 - were also purchased by Europorte in November 2007. They were both moved by road to Loughborough in late July 2008 and have remained at Brush ever since, donating parts to the rest of the Europorte/GBRf fleet.
In February 2014, all Europorte Class 92s – including the stored locomotives - were sold to its then subsidiary, GB Railfreight Limited. The Caledonian Sleeper contract meant the GBRf active fleet increased to 12 of their 16 locomotives.
However, the remaining four stored locos – ironically all originally intended for sleeper operations – are unlikely to work again. With the recent announcement that the Brush Traction works will close by the end of 2021, the future does not look bright for these Class 92s.
