Another look at Pioneertown in Morongo Valley, CA. Built by Hollywood investors (Roy Rogers, Gene Autry,Russell Hayden and the Sons of the Pioneers, for whom the town was names) as an 1870's movie set in1946, many famous actors and actresses stayed in the hotel while filming On the outside were stables, saloons, and jails, and on the inside, were ice cream parlors, bowling alleys, and motels. More than 50 films and several television shows were filmed in Pioneertown throughout the 1940’s and 1950’s. The 18 room hotel is still open to guests, and Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace still hosts music concerts while it serves mesquite BBQ and other favorites.

on a recent road trip my husband and I stumbled upon the very first J.C.Penney store - it opened on April 14, 1902.

Dam Store (named after Palisades Dam) in Palisades, Idaho

Formerly a gas station and general store Dam Store is now pretty much an antique store and trading post. Worth stopping in. Owner had a two speed hand-drill with gears that could be adjusted. One of the most unique items I have ever seen.

The smell was really bad. I almost threw up, it took me several minutes to calm down.

Earl Carter's store adjacent to the home sold canned goods, coffee, kerosene, soap, lard, tobacco, overalls, shoes, flour, castor oil and syrup as well as meat and sausages that had been cured in the smokehouse.

I'm new to posting retail pics, so go easy on me. Also... There was a sign walking in about the media policy... so I tried to be careful and didn't get as many pics as I wanted.

Hopefully you guys will enjoy these though. This is a 1993 Target, with very little remodeling. Still has the original Color Worlds.. and Original Food Ave Signage. Kinda Cool :)

Soon to close Fresh and Easy supermarket in the City of Murrieta, California, this location opened in 2008 in the corner of Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Margarita Road (hence the name ''Margarita Ville Shopping Center'') This location however will be shutting down, most likely by mid November.

Minkler is a small town on the way to Kings Canyon National park (population 30). This little store has been around forever. From chocolate milk to chewing tobacco they have it all. If you have a fast connection, this photo is best viewed in the original size. There are lots of little details that are pretty cool.

Station Hoofddorp is volgestroomd met treinen als gevolg van de storing bij NS. Van links naar rechts: 9591 en 8648 op spoor 2 en 8665 en 2301 op spoor 1. De treinen staan vlak achter elkaar. Het treinpersoneel weet ook niet waar ze aan toe zijn.

Due to a software failure the railway station of Hoofddorp is full of empty trains. The trains are parked closely to another.
