This is the kind of old XIX Century general stores where you could find everything you need. And that was 150 years ago. Almost without a doubt this is somewhere in the USA, although I have no idea of the location. In any case I bought it from somebody in Maryland, although it probably means nothing.
The tintypes of later XIX Century can be difficult to date, as the first were made c.1852 and were dominant until around 1880 when the dry plates displaced the collodion wet plates. But tintypes continued as a cheap way to get portraits until the 1930s!
When I started making wet plate collodion images, the idea came to me to get some authentic ambrotypes and tintypes from the end of the XIX or early XX Centuries. They really stand the test of time!
I was out today, so I decided to drop by the Lego store and I came out with these! But from here on out I gotta start saving up my money for the new amiibo, Pokenn Tournament, and the Civil War sets!

This photo is taken in swords because it's my favourite place to take pictures. I didn't put in a ghost because I liked it how it was. I added a cooling layer to give the chill effect my HI was talking about.
Supplies were purchased in bulk and held in stores on the runs. Early travelers relied upon station stores to replenish their provisions.
Shepherds, stockmen and farm hands received rations as part of their employment package well into the twentieth century.
A rubble masonry building, the Wilpena Store was built in 1862. It is one of very few two-storey station buildings in the Flinders Ranges. The store was windowless; the dark, cool interior optimised conditions for the prolonged storage of food. The original thatched roof has survived, and is laced to roofing timbers with cowhide thonging.
The upper floor was destroyed by fire and replaced in 1899. Twenty years later it had been eaten away by termites and was not replaced.
Trying to protect bulk supplies from vermin was a constant challenge for early storekeepers. Goods were regularly spoiled by ants, mice and weevils. A novel approach was tried at Wilpena - the store has suspended vermin proof shelving.
I found the biggest treasure trove of dolls stuff I have ever seen yesterday at Akihabara. This was the Azone store :)

Built in 1897 on the Greybull River, this general store building was moved to Burlington, Wyoming townsite where it continued fuctioning as a genewral store for several years. The building was moved again from its location in Burlington to the Old Trail Town collection in Cody Wyoming by archaeologist and historian, Bob Edgar. During the 1960's Bob watched as some of old historical buildings of the Big Horn Basin disappeared from the landscape. He decided one way to save some of the buildings was to gather them together into one collection. Starting in 1967 Bob moved 26 historic buildigs to "Old Trail Town"which is located in an area that Buffalo Bill and his associates had chosen for the first town site of "Cody City" in 1895.
Built in 1832, the Georgian-style Stone Store was originally a Missionary Society warehouse but assumed various roles including a trading post, library, barracks and boys’ school.

I don't remember much about this picture. I took it on March 31, 2014 which was my 44th birthday. I had chased the circus train from my home in Columbia to Chester and must have gone back through Winnsboro.
The Cordray Drug Store is located at 3827 Ave L, in Galveston, Texas.
Ashley and Michael Cordray, stars of the show "Restoring Galveston" opened the 'rolled' ice cream shop in June 2022.
Judy and I watch the show and were excited to visit the shop. The ice cream was delicious! We look forward to going back.

The pamphlets are inside the store, the remnants of a poster are on the store window, and the clouds are reflected in the glass.
