(Simulation: Christian Reinboth)
Simulation day at #CityCollegeFTL! We conducted a scenario involving a mass casualty situation with five victims, in which students from several programs participated. The results were outstanding! The medical assisting students came to the aide of one victim and called the EMS team to take over. The most severe patient was taken to the operating room for surgery, with the anesthesia and surgical technology students. Amazing work was done by our students.
The Congressional Simulation Exercise on April 4 was designed to give 120 West Point cadets in the SS202 and SS252 (American Politics) courses a hands-on, real-world simulation of government in action. Participants absorbed the role of legislators, journalist, lobbyists and presidential advisers in a daylong capstone exercise to see who can best use political capital to create a favorable outcome for their group. The Farmers Insurance Training Simulation Software, named CyberLab, is an interactive real-time 3D simulation that puts the user into a game-like environment, similar to many popular video games. Using a first-person perspective, the user must navigate through the home, locate the damage, identify the cause of the damage, and estimate the cost of the repair for the insurance claim. The purpose of the simulation is to teach prospective claims agents the process of determining the amount of damage sustained and correctly arrive at an accurate insurance claim.

Helping Mo with the court room simulation for the 2018-9 MSc Forensic Information Tech students. Great fun, and great to see Tobi and Soraya, both former FIT students, and both now lecturers at the University.

Whether it is the digital management of energy supply, thermal storage power plants as a clean route away from coal, autonomous flying multicopters that monitor the solar fields, or high-tech analysis technology for batteries of the next generation and beyond – the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) will be present at the Hannover Messe to showcase future-oriented technologies and concepts for the implementation of the Energy Transition, as well as products and services that have successfully made their way from research into practical applications in industry thanks to DLR Technology Marketing. From 1 to 5 April 2019, under the central theme 'Taking energy further', visitors to the DLR stand (Hall 27, Stand H70) will find out how the digitally networked and intelligent energy system of tomorrow will look.

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Airman 1st Class Nathan Coleman, Staff Sgt. Kyle McCloskey and Staff Sgt. Chris Carpenter, 366th Civil Engineer Squadron structures technicians, prepare a revetment wall at a simulated deployed location here April 1, 2013. The 366th Fighter Wing is required to protect military assets in the upcoming Certified Readiness Exercise and this revetment meets that requirement. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Roy Lynch)

The simulation software reduced training expenses for Farmers Insurance by reducing the amount of travel that prospective claims agents had to make, and by eliminating the need to train with costly real-world materials. In addition, by prescreening applicants in the virtual world, real-world training only occurred for candidates that had a good chance of succeeding to become insurance adjusters, as demonstrated in their training simulation scores.
Who says it needs to be real to be a snapshot? Railworks 4 a.k.a trainsimulator 2013 is a virtual simulator which allows one to drive trains through many countries, and lines including the UK. The game allows the player to take pictures as they embark on their journey. Needless to say I like driving on the Brighton Mainline...

Hintergrund-Info aus dieser Webseite:
The Millennium Run used more than 10 billion particles to trace the evolution of the matter distribution in a cubic region of the Universe over 2 billion light-years on a side. It kept busy the principal supercomputer at the Max Planck Society's Supercomputing Centre in Garching, Germany for more than a month. By applying sophisticated modelling techniques to the 25 Tbytes of stored output, Virgo scientists have been able to recreate evolutionary histories both for the 20 million or so galaxies which populate this enormous volume and for the supermassive black holes which occasionally power quasars at their hearts. By comparing such simulated data to large observational surveys, one can clarify the physical processes underlying the buildup of real galaxies and black holes.

Rosetta flight control team training at ESOC. Today's session simulates 5 May 2014, when a critical manoeuvre is planned.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Salzburg and the Department of Statistics of the Alpen Adria University of Klagenfurt organized the conference in collaboration with the "Methodenzentrum Versuchsplanung" of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), the Department of Statistical Modelling of Saint Petersburg State University and INFORMS Simulation Society (USA).
This international conference is devoted to statistical techniques in stochastic simulation, data collection and design and analysis of scientific experiments and studies representing broad areas of interest.
The 1st- 6th Workshops took place in St. Petersburg (Russia) in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and 2009. The Seventh International Workshop on Simulation took place in Rimini in May 2013, the Eighth Workshop took place in Vienna in September 2015, and the Ninth one in Barcelona in June 25-29 2018.

This project investigates a computational design methodology with reconstructions of natural morphologies through computational algorithms based on Biomimetics whereby higher-performative architecture can be generated. Termite mounds as a representative reference of the highest performative system in nature in terms of its natural ventilation are interpreted as the combination between the streamlining external form and internal branching systems of air conduits. Furthermore, a computational algorithm, which can reconstruct termite mounds' morphologies, and a new design process looping between parametric designs driven by the algorithms and C.F.D. simulations are developed. This integral design process can make architectural forms adaptive to nature through the reciprocity between external conditions from environments and internal performances of architecture itself.
