This image, from the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UC San Diego, shows turbulent geophysical flows in the interstellar medium of galaxies. To get this one snapshot of the simulation required 4,096 processors running for two weeks, and resulted in 25 terabytes of data. Brightest regions represent highest density gas, compressed by a complex system of shocks in the turbulent flow. Dense filaments and cores, created in such a way by supersonic turbulent flows, are subject to massive gravitational collapse - and that leads to the birth of stars.

This manikin can be used to practice nasal and oral airway insertion, endotracheal intubation, Combitubes, King Airways, etc. Using some standard PVC fittings this manikin has been modified to vomit.

West Point Cadets Michael Kim and Jon Neill discuss immigration reform as they portray democratic congressmen April 4 during a Congressional Simulation Exercise. The Congressional Simulation Exercise was designed to give about 120 West Point cadets in the SS202 and SS252 (American Politics) courses a hands-on, real-world simulation of government in action. Participants absorbed the role of legislators, journalist, lobbyists and presidential advisers in a daylong capstone exercise to see who could use political capital to create the best outcome for their group.
