Speaker of the House, aka, Class of 2017 Cadet Chris Monge tries to make a point Nov. 18 during a vote on the passing of an energy bill at Mahan Hall in the annual Congressional Simulation Exercise. The exercise allows cadets to experience the tension, conflicting pressures and challenges that our political leaders face in governing our nation and passing bills through congress.
Charles Tan, Aerospace Engineering Graduate Student, takes measurements to understand how many infectious aerosol particles others in a classroom expect to inhale under various mitigation scenarios inside 1311 EECS on North Campus in Ann Arbor, MI on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Different parts of a room will have different risk levels, depending on many factors, including: how HVAC vents affect aerosol trajectories, how effective windows or HVAC are at bringing in fresh air, and how many virus particles an infected person emits. Typical indoor airborne transport models do not take this uncertainty or variability into account.

Simulation day at #CityCollegeFTL! We conducted a scenario involving a mass casualty situation with five victims, in which students from several programs participated. The results were outstanding! The medical assisting students came to the aide of one victim and called the EMS team to take over. The most severe patient was taken to the operating room for surgery, with the anesthesia and surgical technology students. Amazing work was done by our students.

This image was made using an orthochromatique film simulation that I quickly ginned up. I'm looking for subtlies, smoothness of tones, and an overall softness.
I realize I could achieve something similar using the Human Perception Model B&W conversion by lowering the contrast. But, I needed to start somewhere and a friend was curious about the Ortho simulation in digital. So these are what the scenes look like when using primarily the blue channel with a touch of green.

Rosetta flight control team training at ESOC. Today's session simulates 5 May 2014, when a critical manoeuvre is planned.
Assistant professor Umberto Saetti, seated, has the opportunity to study immersive human-machine interactions via two motion-based virtual reality rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft simulators.
Next to the model is a simulation of the lookout glass of the captain's cab with a view of the landing deck of the ship with video screens playing videos with sound of landing and taking off aircraft both by day and by night. After a couple of minutes, it does feel as though you are looking at the real thing. (Washington DC, USA, Oct. 2006)
After half of the campus went missing a few days ago now it has been returned, but it needs to be reseeded and built back upon. When it crashed into the ocean everyone was washed away!

This is actually just the old part of the lab. There is a lot of new units behind me. Some of those here the the background are new as well. (:
The roof is slanted indeed if you wonder what's going on there. :D

These are reference images I'm using to test my new Velvia 100 RVP Film Simulation presets.
It's pretty well nailed down. With DMAX increases to Greens and Reds, and careful attention to how Velvia F used to make Reds orange and Yellows green, I made the adjustsments to reflect with known parameters of Velvia 100 RVP.
Like RVP, lighting conditions, exposures and subjects work differently with this simulation, but I used this reference set of 16 images to really stress test the preset.
In some cases, only two of the sliders need to be adjusted to suit the shooting conditions which are Exposure and White settings.
White balance needs to be adjusted manually. RVP tends to have a coolish tendency to it's images (which kind of makes sense because projector lights tended to be warmer.
White balancing with this preset requires you find your optimal results and then pull back towards cool just a little bit.
