"A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong it is until it's in hot water." - Eleanor Roosevelt. What a cracking sentiment in the Simon Says Stamp February 2107 Card Kit and great for an encouragement card. πŸ˜€

I used Dies from SSS, LF and PPP

One more card for the current SSS flickr challenge of anything goes. This time I used the SSS Fractile Leaves stamp set. I embossed the leaves in white and then colored them with two different Daniel Smith blue watercolors. I have two of the SSS Daniel Smith watercolor palettes and I used a blue from each palette. I then colored around the leaves with a gray/blue from one of the palettes. The sentiments are from Stained Glass Greetings and were embossed in white on vellum and dark gray cardstock. Finished with some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins.

There's a big Simon Says Stamp hop to celebrate the β€ͺnew release today - lots of fun, inspiration and prizes πŸ˜ƒ

In today's video, I'm taking a first look at the new Tim Holtz Kitsch Flamingo Distress colour. Despite it being a pink colour which wouldn't normally be in my muted palette wheelhouse, I think the pink pops and contrasts nicely with more muted, antique flavoured colours of the rest of the card and that play of one against the other makes for an interesting combination. You can find all the details and video here:

What an honor to be one of the first 2 featured stampers for the SSS Flickr Challenges! Only took me a minute to pick which of my favorite techniques to use for Challenge 63 www.flickr.com/groups/simonsaysstamp/discuss/721576756316... & that's because emboss resist is my old standby. This time I did a little twist by using colored embossing powders instead of black or white. The greeting is an old one by Hero Arts. Details on My Blog. Thanks for looking & hope I've given you some inspiration for the challenge.

For the first Simon Says Stamp/Lawn Fawn Flickr Co-Challenge using SSS Full Card Sunshine Craft Die, SSS Happy Birthday Craft Die, Lawn Fawn critters ever after. Tfl!

I love these earthy colours and you see them a lot on social media, graphic design and home decor. They may not be the traditional colours for a card using hearts, but it is nice to veer away from the norm. Today's video is a two-for-one using a hearts die cut panel that I've seen used in a variety of ways, but I wanted to use it with a watercoloured piece after a few swatches on my desk kept catching my attentionπŸ˜ƒ
