My card with Hero Arts Totally Stamp set

All on one card - stamping, foiling, die-cutting, stencilling, dry embossing ... this card is packed! It came about because I wanted to play with new foiling plates I had in particular the beautiful butterfly set which has matching dies too. Having got myself foiling I now can't stop!

I love using Distress Inks with a resist technique! The flowers and leaves are from Simon Says Stamp.

I used the SSS "Sketched Flowers" SSS101830 and watercolor to create this card and two more with different color palettes. I am entering this one in the current SSS Flickr Challenge. HERE

This card was so fun to make using the Prismatic Snowflakes set. I stamped all the snowflakes with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Inked up the dark blue cardstock with Chipped Sapphire and Black soot distress inks. The sentiments are from Stained Glass Greetings. Embossed both with the same gold embossing powder. Finished with lots and lots of gold pearls. Also adding to the SSS Wednesday challenge and the SSS flickr challenge.

I love this time of year with the changing seasons. The first warm days of spring or the first cool ones for those of you in the southern hemisphere. It makes me want to get out in nature and breathe. Take in the moment and all around me; look and wonder. Inspired by nature for today's card, I picked these mushroom dies and added lots of colour and texture to make them stand out.

Oh, I can see myself diving into a major mixed media rabbit hole! Do you know that feeling when you can't get enough, and you want to research, experiment and explore? I had this feeling when I found watercolours for the first time, and mixed media for me seems to be an extension of that. There's all the watery goodness but so much more added to that too 😃 I had great fun with lots of Simon Says Stamp and Tim Holtz products on this card.

Do you like watercoloured, vintage-styled Christmas cards? It is a style I love this year. I think it stems from how much I am enjoying the Distress line from Tim Holtz, and the makers he employs to showcase the new products always inspire me. Did you see the recent YouTube Live where Tim showcased the new Lumberjack Plaid Distress colour? The gentle shabby chic of Stacy Hutchinson always inspires me, and did you see the gorgeous tags and whatnot that Zoe Hillman did? Fabulous!

Have you noticed a drop in the temperatures? A little dew on the grass in the morning or condensation on the window pane? Those first early signs that summer is starting to fade and along with it the tones in my garden are changing. What was once rich pink burgundy Astrantia is now a muted shadow of its former glory. But you know me, I often struggle with the bright colours of full-on summer and take delight in the shades of autumn. Oh yes, this is definitely my season of colour!
