I used my stencil previously made from SSS Heart of Flowers die to make a birthday card. Pixie Spray adhesive worked great to hold the stencil in place while I used blending sponges with DI mermaid lagoon & wilted violet. Then I used a dauber with Versamark so I could emboss with HA Sparkle powder--so beautiful in person! The sentiment from SSS Thoughtful Messages was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist & I added black sequins. I instantly fell in love with this cute little tiny envelope from the Ellen Hutson Store. It seemed a perfect match with the stamp set from Simon Says Stamp "Sending happy thoughts". I also used the “Femme frames” from Mama Elephant.

Summer is officially over here and with the rains, these bright colours just perk me up. I’ve had this floral centrepiece 3D embossing folder for so long that I had to try it out today. I paired it with my fav ‘you’ die, both from SSS

Here in the UK, we are seeing the first signs of spring. A few bulbs have sprouted, the days are getting longer, and occasionally there's a little warmth to the sunshine. However, it's still that transition phase; we haven't hit the full-on acid-greens of true spring yet. The colour palette is more muted with soft watery blues, warm greys and dusky pink-browns. It was those watery blues that inspired the colours for my card. When you are working with the soft, pale colours of early spring, I find that the best way to showcase them is with subtle textures and layers.

After resting up for a few days I was finally able to get back into my craft room today 🎉 I'm popping in super quick to share a card I made with the Tim Holtz + Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember 2018 set. This set is selling like hotcakes, and I predict it will be sold old by the end of the day! I guess that isn't surprising as the stamp set is gorgeous and it comes with four stencils too 😃

The current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge is, Favorite Technique! One of my favorite techniques that got me excited about stamping nearly 30 years ago is embossing. I loved heating the powder and seeing the image magically get raised. My favorite thing to do with embossing these days is the resist technique; it can give you such beautiful results. I am also entering this in the LOVE! - Handmade cards March Love Challenge for Ukraine.
