Deep-ting’d and damp, and congregated clouds,
And all the vapoury turbulence of heaven

Are you enjoying this pre-spring weather? Feels nice I must say. Hopefully we will get to have another proper spring this year as well! But till we start getting back some color in the city I will keep posting some wintry frames. What do you think?
Light Falls In The Forest....
Karen and i braved the cold yesterday to get some shots of Heart Lake. Southern Ontario was in the middle of a deep freeze, the wind blew clouds aimlessly across the sky. it was clear and sunny one minute and a blizzard of blinding snow the next.
this shot of the waning sun casting long slender shadows across the snow.

A Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias)hunting in the waters of Witty’s Lagoon, backlit by the setting sun. Witty’s Lagoon, Metchosin, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
The Great Blue Heron is a patient hunter, constantly observing and will often stand motionless waiting for prey to come within striking distance.
I've been wanting to upload this image for some time now, the other upload from the same shoot was used by an american author for her book cover, i like the movement and the unspoiled golden sand on this shot.
Fishermen at sunset on the coastline of Beirut as a jet ski passes turns in the distance.
Still searching for beautiful formations in sunset and this caught my eyes..Ganges river bank, near Kolkata.
Hot off the press in the setting sun - our Flowering Quince is full of February buds & blossoms! And guess what? Sunny and near 70o this afternoon - we saw foty butterflies: TWO Spring Azures! But I didn't have my camera - just got awful documentation shots with my Samsung. Also saw a foty red wasp.
Happy Valentine's!!
Stroll or bike the scenic dyke trails of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, as they meander along the Alouette River.
Enjoy the fresh air, slow river life style, and views of the mountains and farm fields.
Local residents of the South Arm of the Alouette River, live and or moor their boats along this scenic stretch.
As seen in this image, a couple strolling along the dyke, towards the setting sun, while others sit, relaxed, on a dock outside their boathouse.
'The good life' ( as per the caption )......... not only for the people that reside here, but for for all those that have the opportunity to experience the sense of tranquility, one feels while visiting these idyllic surroundings.
Happy to be alive.

Breathing in the peace and quiet of the South Downs. Amazing how the South East of England is one of the most densely populated areas here but walk up a hill and you barely see a soul! Bliss ☺️❤️
Captured later in the sundown with some different colour processing as my previous upload.
Still exploring with this type of colour-heavy processing. This one is a combination of two photographs, where I masked-in the silky water from a picture taken with shutter speed 15 seconds and f-stop 22.
The combination of cloud cover and setting sun at the right time of day when the colour steps up to complete the scene.
Winter brings 2 delights to our yard: flowering quince and roaring chorus frogs. Both popped up this week with temps in the 70's! We have a 3rd surprise delight with the appearance of the out-of-range Yellow-throated warbler last week & he's still here this morning (1-2-22). It was 74o at 2am this morning ... but our temps will dive into the 30's tonight. Will the warbler stay? Will the quince hang in there? This shot was in that golden last light ...
BAD NEWS to wrap up a stinking 2021: I lost my hard drive on my Samsung phone. So I disappeared much of the week. Email me if you want the grim details of how it went into a Factory Reset that I didn't request and couldn't stop :-O
A little texture sliding to conclude this crazy week! I think the reflection looks good with a little folding.
Happy sliders Sunday! HSS

A visit to the shore at the end of a very disturbing day. Few things are as soothing to the soul as watching ocean waves rhythmically crashing on the beach. I actually brought the color saturation down a bit on this. Long Beach, NY -- January 6, 2021
