The particulates in the air due to the Canadian wildfires is causing the sun to be seen in an almost filter effect, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Here it goes down between the trees, giving it natural framing on both sides.

Enjoy, and have a great week everyone!
A stormy sunset! It was chilly and thought I'd pop down to Glen Wyllin to catch the sunset.

The setting sun disappears behind a temple situated on the manicured grounds of Phutthamonthon, a 1,000 acre park located in the Nakhon Pathom Province of Thailand near Bangkok. The name of the park in Thai, พุทธมณฑล, transliterated as "Buddha Monthon," may be loosely translated, "Buddha's Sphere." Thanks for viewing!

The start of a new gardening year, the end of a gardening day. A beautiful red setting sun radiates through the Alder trees on the riverbank, down upon the gardener - dear Julie - after a day preparing the canvas for Spring and the party to come....
In our garden.

This is another picture from BTS (before the snow). Autumn is my favourite season and I am going to enjoy it for as long as I can, even if only through my photos. I liked this view for the warm, slightly rosy light of the setting sun on the hilltops and reflected in the river.
Shape of the trees.
Trees that grow along river banks and lake shores usually have no neighboring trees on one side, so their branches grow all the way down to the ground. This is a direct effect of not having to compete for light.
This treed section was captured along side a river bank and picks up some warm light from the setting sun.

There are few things in life one never gets bored of. Travelling to Yosemite in the pursuit of capturing a clearing storm is one such thing for me. Travelling alone through some of the toughest driving conditions I have encountered, the waiting game for the storm to pass and ultimately being rewarded with such a exquisite scene unfold is a feeling that has no parallel!

Another from earlier in the week at Burnham on Sea. The setting sun just lit up the lighthouse. Reflections seem to have been a theme this week!

Celebrating our gracious, supportive and spectacular neighbor and friend to the north. July 1 is technically Canada Day. However, because that date falls on a Sunday this year, the holiday will be observed by many the next day, Monday, July 2, so most Canadians can enjoy a day off to celebrate.
I just returned from a wonderful trip to BC and Alberta. Here's a pic of the Moraine Lake outlet with the peaks catching the rays of the sinking sun. A slice of Heaven on Earth.
Wishing all my Canadian friends and all the fans of Canada a Happy Canada Day!

Back south after a few hiking days in the arctic circle, a place so gorgeous it makes me dream away in a nature lover's spirit. So much beauty, fascinating to see wee birds I've never seen, happy smiles of the early autumn air, the mountains, the feel of the untouched and the quietness!
This is taken from the first night and what a greeting to arrive to. Bliss!

I was working on and mulching my garden yesterday and this job is only once a year at the beginning of the year... and it was getting late when I was sitting at this lily of the valley bed and realized the sun was setting fast and my photographic opportunity was not lasting too long so ran inside and grabbed my camera... in the end all the mulch was on me, instead of in this flower bed, but i got this pic :) Thanks for looking!

Sometimes you just want to be alone. Alone to search inwards to your soul and wonder why things happen. And when the sea breeze starts in the afternoon and the sun is setting over the water if you have a setting sun over the water, what exists manifests itself a thousand times and you find you are with mother nature. How perfect can this be when your mind, spirit and surrounds unite to become one and you are in sync with the world. Image taken at FantasyFair in SL. Taking time out from helping and having my alone time.....

I love that last weeks fence shot went to explore. I have had two fences go that way. It is exciting for sure.
I have come to love my fence hunting missions. Sometimes the same fence but a new perspective and light.
Happy Fence Friday
