Photographed on September 2, 2016 during the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival in Auburn, Indiana.
Only eighteen of these fantastic phaetons were produced in the late seventies and early eighties and they sold in the $45,000 to $60,000 range. Here is an article about Glenn Pray's company and the Auburns and Cords that he built: Auburn Cord Duesenberg Co. It is estimated that Pray bought 350 tons of inventory of remaining ACD parts which he used in producing his cars between 1964 and 1981. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club refers to Pray's repicas as "Second Generation Cars" and they have a loyal following.

In the gentle light of dawn, the sand reveals the footprints, still fresh and immortalized in a meditative silence. Each step, marked by the unknown past, shapes a recent story, like a fleeting memory of the night’s adventures.
The adventures of the night have ended. I thank you for walking beside me through the darkness that was, but now it's time to embrace the light."
The sand, a silent witness, says to the sea, "Good morning. Listen to the breath of these footsteps, to the stories they carry. Let them bask in the light a little longer before your waves erase them completely."
The sea, calm and wise, responds: "Good morning, dear friend. You are always here to remind me that each grain of sand is a timeless gem, as unbreakable as the dreams of strong people. You know well that my power is intertwined with that of the sun, and together we bring change, but the adventure, that journey into the unknown, remains eternal."
In this quiet conversation between the sea and the sand, between the past and the present, ancient and simple wisdom of nature is revealed: that each step, whether toward darkness or light, is part of an endless cycle of transformation. And these footprints, whether fleeting or enduring, carry not only our stories but also the eternal dialogue between who we were and who we are yet to become.

Photograph taken at 09:59am on Tuesday 10th September 2013 at an altitude of One hundred and forty six metres having clambered across the rocks to view Bracklinn Falls, just East of Callander in the Trossachs, Scotland. Flanked by the Allt a Choire Bhric, the River Keltie flows over the rocks which were formed around 410 million years ago. The falls consist of five cataracts which range from around 6ft to about 25ft.
In 2004, a steel bridge over the falls was washed away by floods. In October 2010 a new, 20-tonne wood-and-copper one, spanning 20m across a very deep gorge, was hauled into place by hand because its location made it impossible to use a crane. In July 2011 this new bridge was awarded at the International Footbridge Awards

This september storm produced dangerous, close lightning strikes at almost the same place, time after the time.....
So it was easy to know where to point the camera and then taking dozens of shots where the lightning could strike.
I was concerned about my safety, so I took shelter in the entrance of my greenhouse. I have many more shots of this event, but this was clearly the best....

All three photos posted this morning are from my archives. Our forecast is for snow today, so I thought I would post photos with colour.
On 29 September 2015, I had set my alarm clock for 6:30 am so that I could go on a birding walk with friends. Unfortunately, I didn't read the e-mail carefully enough, so hadn't seen that the meeting place was not where I thought. Of course, no one else showed up where I was, so I took myself off to the Calgary Zoo instead. I had planned on going there after the walk, anyway.
"Nestled at the very heart of the Calgary Zoo, these pink beauties might seem dainty, but don’t let their slender bodies and fancy feathers fool you. Flamingos are tough cookies. They can stand on one leg for hours and, in the wild, withstand extreme conditions – including stifling summers and frigid winter temperatures that dip to -30 C.
In the wild, Chilean Flamingos live near salt lakes, coastal mudflats and marshes. Their diet consists of algae and small aquatic animals.
If flamingos don’t eat pink food, their feathers turn white. At the zoo, special diet supplements keep the birds’ feathers vibrant." From the Calgary Zoo Website.

"When not eating or preening, flamingos will sleep, facing the wind, head tucked under their wings, usually standing on one leg, with the other leg tucked up under their feathers. They do this to conserve warmth, whether they're in a warm or cool climate."

"Chilean flamingos live in large flocks in the wild and require crowded conditions to stimulate breeding. During breeding season, males and females display a variety of behaviors to attract mates, including head flagging—swiveling their heads from side-to-side in tandem—and wing salutes, where the wings are repeatedly opened and closed. Males and females cooperate in building a pillar-shaped mud nest, and both incubate the egg laid by the female. Upon birth, the chicks have gray plumage; they don't gain adult coloration for two-three years. Both male and female flamingos can produce a nutritious milk-like substance in their crop gland to feed their young.
The Chilean flamingo's bill is equipped with comb-like structures that enable it to filter food—mainly algae and plankton—from the water of the coastal mudflats, estuaries, lagoons and salt lakes where it lives." From Wikipedia.

The Town Hall was erected in 1717, suffered a lot from Allied bombing and was rebuilt to its former splendour in the early 1950s. Highlight is the rectangular tower with the beautifully decorated clock.
The market square in front of the Town Hall has always been centre of Mayen. In its centre is the Market Fountain, erected by Micheal Alken.

Located 80 miles north of Inverness the Mound station was an intermediate station on the former Highland Railway Far North line which opened in 1868.
It became a junction station in 1902 when the Dornoch Light Railway opened on 2 June 1902. This closed on 13 June 1960 when all the stations to Dornoch were also shut.
The Mound station today is a private residence. In this view the branch came in on the left and the main line north is behind the trees on the right. The wooden building behind the white vehicle on the right is clearly of railway origin.
September 25, 268/365 (2095/2192)- This morning several hundred students gathered before school for the annual "See You At The Pole" prayer and fellowship rally. Good turnout, good music, good student speakers, and great way to start the day! Students had broken into small prayer groups here to close the rally.
The September sun is swinging around as D&GV's westbound excursion passenger train #2, the New Tygart Flyer, is about to clatter over the west end switch of the former Bowden, WV, siding, as the train makes its way along the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River on the afternoon of September 8, 2024.

Since September 23, 1974, the Köhlbrand Bridge has connected the Elbe island of Wilhelmsburg with the federal autobahn 7 (junction 30 Waltershof) and the western and eastern parts of the port of Hamburg. . The structure spans the 325 m wide Köhlbrand, an arm of the southern Elbe. The cable-stayed bridge was designed by civil engineer Paul Boué and architect Egon Jux.
Unfortunately, she is getting on in her years, ailing and with a clearance height of 53 m too small for the ever-growing ships. It will be replaced by a tunnel from 2030.

September 1982, and the prototype Eastern Coach Works bodied Leyland "Olympian" ADD50Y leaves Bristol's Marlborough Street Bus and Coach Station on the National Express service for London.
Although I had operational responsibility for this Bristol Omnibus depot at the time, I was actually based in Weston super Mare. Little did I know that, twelve months later a re-organisation of the company would see me based here.
Little did ADD50Y know that a couple of years after that she would be visiting this bus station many times a day whilst working for Badgerline on the Weston super Mare to Bristol Limited Stop X1 service.

September 6, 2018. I caught the 6:30 train out of Ottawa this morning (which meant I left home at 5:30) to Montreal to catch an event. In the afternoon I had some time so I hit the Picasso exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. I'm uploading this on the train back this evening. Long day.
