Automobile Photographs: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)
Central Illinois (excluding Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I've photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "countryside") photographs are grouped by county.
Springfield, Illinois: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Darek & I drove Bill & Rusty to the Prime Timers of the Desert mixer at Escena this evening. Afterwards we went to Loco Charlies for supper.
16 september beloofde nog een mooie nazomerdag te worden. Al van ‘s morgens in alle vroegte, scheen het zonnetje op volle kracht. Dat was ook een groot voordeel voor Train World, die die dag een evenement organiseerde. Een speciale gast kwam zich poseren voor het publiek van TrainWorld: de Eurostar Velaro E320! Reporter Finn vertrok al vroeg in de morgen richting de hoofdstad om een van zijn talenten uit te oefenen. Het feit dat hij graag de Velaro-treinstellen mag, deed hem zeker niet twijfelen om te gaan. Op die dag was een Velaro E320 in Brussel-Noord nog best uitzonderlijk! Vandaag de dag worden er al geregeld testritten naar Nederland ingelegd.
Het was al 7u45 ‘s morgens toen onze beste reporter van dienst vertrok uit Groenendaal naar Brussel-Noord, dat voor een zaterdagmorgen! Benieuwd of er nog mensen zijn die dan al zo vroeg uit de veren willen voor een trein…! Je moet er namelijk iets voor overhebben, anders hadden we al veel leuke treinen gemist.
Tijdens het wachten op de doortocht van de Velaro E320 naar Schaarbeek, kwam ook deze gast zich tonen in het warme ochtendzonnetje. Tot onze verbazing bevond zich achter de 2808 een i11 A-rijtuig. We vermoeden dat deze stam de nacht voordien vanuit Oostende naar Vorst gebracht is, en men daar bewust of onbewust het i11-rijtuig vergeten uit de trein te rangeren is. Met een vertraging van 32 minuten komt de 2808 met trein 9223 door Brussel-Noord.

In September and October 2021, we spent three weeks touring the Italian regions of Abruzzo, Umbria, Marches and Emilia-Romagna, which we hadn’t visited yet.
Personally, I had my sights firmly set on a series of early Romanesque churches of high architectural and artistic interest, so you will see quite a few of those, in spite of the typical Italian administration-related problems I encountered, and which were both stupid and quite unpleasant.
There will also be other sorts of old stones, landscapes, etc., and I hope you will enjoy looking at them and have a good time doing so. If it makes you want to go, do, by all means, Italy is a wonderful country.
Today, we begin a new visit, and an unexpectedly memorable one, this time in the province of Marches, not very far from the coastal city of Ancona.
Just like we had tried to do (so unsuccessfully) at the abbey of San Pietro in Valle in Umbria, we intended to spend a night at the very nice hotel into which the abbey of San Pietro has been converted on Monte Conero, so that we could both enjoy a nice stopover and have a look at what remained of the abbey church.
Unlike its Umbrian namesake, entrance to this San Pietro abbey church was free, even for people not staying at the hotel, and what we found inside was magnificent!
Besides, our room with a balcony and a gorgeous vista on the Adriatic and all the surrounding area was great, and the food at the restaurant that evening was quite enjoyable as well, so I can only recommend the place!
We had to drive way up to the top of Monte Conero to find the place, indeed a great location for an abbey. This one was built by Benedictine monks around Year 1000, as we know from a written source that it was fully functional and operational in 1037.
The original church was without any adornments inside, but pilasters and capitals were added around 1200. In the 16th century, the Benedictines were replaced by other orders between whose members there were some disputes, until the Camaldolese monks prevailed. They were those who remodeled the façade into the uninteresting one we can see today –truly the only part of the church that doesn’t deserve to be photographed!
A more sophisticated example of sculpture found in the crypt: a donkey trampling over some monsters. This capital was probably replaced at a later date, maybe around Year 1000.

Van 3 t/m 6 september 2025 ben ik weer met mijn treinenspotmaat een paar dagen in Tsjechië geweest om weer te genieten van het mooie materieel en de fraaie landschappen. Deze keer hebben we wat meer lokale diesellijntjes bezocht. De modernisering van de Tsjechische diesellijnen gaat snel. Mooie klassieke series als de 810 en 854 verdwijnen steeds meer van het spoor, stationnetjes worden gemoderniseerd en klassieke beveiliging is ook nog nauwelijks meer in gebruik. Tijdens deze paar dagen in Tsjechië hebben we genoten van de fraaie oude dieseltreinen en tussendoor werden enkele stekken langs de hoofdbaan gepakt.
Nadat ¾ van de dag werd besteed aan foto’s aan een aantal mooie diesellijnen, werd de stek bij Nová Ves u Kolína aan de hoofdlijn Praha-Kolín bezocht. Qua goederentreinen is deze lijn wat rustiger dan de nabijgelegen hoofdlijn Nymburk-Lysá nad Labem, maar qua reizigersverkeer is dit een zeer interessante lijn met veel afwisseling. Ondanks de inmiddels gangbare en overheersende Najbrt-kleurstelling komen er nog best veel kleurrijke treinen voorbij.
Je moet niet heel prikkelgevoelig zijn, want je staat op deze plek wel vlakbij een zeer druk bereden weg waar niet bepaald langzaam wordt gereden. Daardoor werden de treinen qua geluid flink overstemt door het autoverkeer. Verder kun je begin september hier niet heel lang staan in de namiddag in verband met de schaduwen van het viaduct (en voorbereidende vrachtwagens) op het spoor.
Hier zien we de ZSSK 193 027-0 met EC 126 Púchov- Praha hlavní nádraží bij Nová Ves u Kolína op 3-9-2025.

Having just run round, Irish Rail GM 081 shunts the Sperry train into the sidings at North Wall yard on 23 September 2021. The train had run to Dublin as the 10.25 Athenry - North Wall. Also visible in the yard is the 08.15 IWT container train from Ballina, which had arrived earlier in the afternoon behind Enterprise-liveried 227.

Aan het einde van Terug naar Toen vertrekt de SSN weer richting Rotterdam. Dit gaat altijd via Dieren waardoor de trein bij Ellecom vast te leggen is. Ondanks dat er een dikke wand met bewolking op de rand van de zon hing viel het allemaal op zijn plek.
Op de foto komt met flink wat geweld de SSN 23 023 en 01 1075 met trein 70462 langs de fotografen in het weiland bij Ellecom onderweg terug naar thuisbasis Rotterdam Noord Goederen.

27 September 2014. For several days I was in Japan (Tokyo) because I was playing a chiptune/micromusic concert there. You can find entire video from the concert here, by the way ;) www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOx9InNtU3A So. Also I spent some time walking around and taking photos.
The staying there was really very very incredible ;) for a person from Europe. Hence, this is a not very typical album for me because the subject is a city, not a nature. But I hope You don't mind. ;)
Anyways. This time I used the Lomography Diana Mini - and it did a good job. ;) The film I used was Kodak Color Plus 200.
I also took my Diana F+ with me (this is a proof!! yerzmyey.republika.pl/Yerz_with_Diana_camera_in_Japan2014... ) and if there are some interesting photos from it too, maybe I will make a "part 2" of this album later, we will see. ;)
Van September tot midden Januari 2018 rijden er gemiddeld tussen de 11 en 13 extra suikertreinen per week naar Antwerpen Lillo . De treinen worden gelost bij Euroports terminal op Lillo . Dit is in opdracht van VTG Rail Logistics . De meeste van deze treinen komt uit Duitsland en gaan dus via de Montzenroute .
Op Woensdag rijden er meestal 2 HSL treinen . Zo ook afgelopen woensdag middag .
Hier passeert de eerste HSL trein met de fraaie 186 181 in bocht van Alt Hoeselt op weg naar Aken West .

In September the Festival of Lights took place in Berlin, there were more than 100 different installations throughout the city. Unfortunately the few that I checked out nearby close to where I live were not well suited to photograph, often they were too crowded or the installation was partially obfuscated. Nothing really clicked for me.
On my way home I tried a few shots near Friedrichstrasse to capture the tram from the BVG company. Trams and buses are brightly colored in yellow tones which makes for nice long exposures.
JAAROVERZICHT 2020, SEPTEMBER
Na een voorzichtige start in 2017 door LTE is de Vectron tegenwoordig niet meer weg te denken in Nederland. Een jaaroverzicht zonder een van de vele bont uitgedoste varianten zou daarom ook niet compleet zijn. In 2019 presenteerde RFO de 193623 in "haaien bestickering" De loc met deze gewaagde bestickering werd net als echte haaien, een gewild jachtobject.
Alhoewel in september de dagen al weer merkbaar korter werden, grossierde deze maand ook wel in een aantal erg warme en redelijk zonnige dagen. Daarom werd in de middag van 22 september 2020 aar de Brabantroute gereden voor het vastleggen van wat cargo's.
Er reed deze mooie middag niet heel veel, maar gelukkig liet "Sharky" 193623 zich wel zien! Met een volle Cabooter/ Blerickshuttle aan de haak passeert hij de fotograaf bij Tilburg op weg naar de Maasvlakte.
