Each year I tend to have photos from late summer that I never get around to posting because Fall arrives and the leaves begin to change and all I can think about is posting autumn colors. So here are a few Monarch pics of a Monarch in my back yard flower garden from last Sept.
This year Monarchs once again laid eggs in my garden and I had several caterpillars munch my milkweed plants down to just stems, but when it comes time to go into chrysalis the caterpillars are going to other plants. I did find one chrysalis on a cosmo stem. So at least one butterfly went full cycle from egg to caterpillar to butterfly in my garden. I am hoping that many of the other caterpillars I saw also made it to chrysalis and I am just not very good at spotting the chrysalis among the thick growth of plant stems.
Wish my hanging plants looked so nice this late in the season, but this is one of the advantages of living at the coast. Copper window box crafted by Timberline Lodge blacksmith, Darryl Nelson.

I'm one handed these days but thought a simple little hike would be okay. Only 6km...it turned out to be 6km climbing over rock fall etc. Then the snow started! And when we got to this lake the wind started!!! I'm pretty sure I did most of the 3km downhill on my...well, not my feet!!
Nottingham Community Transport (CT4N) electric bus 987 (LJ16 NNC) at the CT4N compound at the Nottingham Queens Drive Park and Ride site, 30th September 2019. LJ16 NNC is one of thirteen Chinese built BYD K9UR B35F fully electric integral buses operated by CT4N which entered service in August 2016 for the dedicated Queens Drive and Racecourse Park and Ride services. However, Nottingham City Council have discontinued the dedicated bus services serving the Park and Ride sites and replaced them with additional stops on passing Nottingham City Transport routes. This has had a major impact on the thirteen BYD buses with eight of the thirteen vehicles appearing to be in store at the CT4N Queens Drive compound. At least two of the thirteen strong fleet seem to have found alternate duties with LJ16 NNC recently repainted red and branded for an East Midlands Gateway Logistics Park shuttle service and one (which I failed to note its identity) carrying a label “Gateway Spare”

The common name of this tree is "weeping willow "...common in suburban Chicago...only this tree is native to Asia not North America.
I took this one very early morning in my first year of teaching on the Reserve. I had a habit of getting up early and going in well before anyone else, because that's what you have to do in that line of work when you first start. I took this out the dining room window while having my first coffee of the day.

Trying out with a hairband. There are aspect I like and aspects I'm not so sure about. But the advantage of using my own hair is that I can experiment with different styles!
