In a kaleidoscope of colors, sound and movement, more than 6,000 faithful in the Phoenix Diocese gathered to honor Mary in the most anticipated Catholic event of the year, Rosary Sunday.
Under her title Mary, Help of Christians, the 35th annual celebration continued its traditional offerings of confession, adoration, benediction and recitation of the rosary.
The downtown Phoenix Convention Center opened its doors Oct. 10 to ethnically diverse members of the Body of Christ whose public prayers in different tongues paid homage to Mary, especially for her protection of the unborn.
Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted was greeted with a standing ovation from an enthusiastic crowd that filled the seats, as others searched for open spots.
“Today, we see how Mary is the mother of all of us,” Bishop Olmsted said in his bilingual address.
Auxilary Bishop Eduardo Nevares, recently back from a trip to Rome, delivered an apostolic blessing from Pope Benedict, which was received with a round of applause.
Christy O’Gara said she attended the event for the second year with her six children so they could “see all those that love Jesus.”
“Now, more than ever, we desire to be together as witnesses to the world,” O’Gara said.

Sunday is usually the best morning to see Cape Porpoise' lobster boats because its the one day that most of the lobstermen take off.
A bike ride, a backpack and a magazine. A great way to spend a sunny Sunday.

Normally, I take off my church clothes as soon as I get home because I'm afraid to get them dirty or I've worn some really uncomfortable shoes with them. This Sunday, I was pretty comfortable so I stopped to take a picture for Wardrobe Remix.
Vest: Ben Sherman @ Ross'
Shirt: CK @ Macy's (I think)
Wide-Legged Herringbone Pants: Miss Sixty given to me by cousin who "outgrew" them (neither of us is young enough for "growing" per se)
Booties: Remixed
(I should've taken a close-up of the pattern of the pants, but I just thought of it. Sorry).
The weekday Margam-Dee Marsh steel trains, 6M76 and 6M86, and return empties 6V75 and 6V80 produce Mirrlees traction occasionally, but the Sunday equivalent trains, 6M30 and 6V50 are solid GM traction. But not today!
60079 has just slogged 6M30 up the sharp incline from Pen-y-ffordd into Buckley station, just a few miles short of destination.
Caused a bit of a stir did this 'un, reported 127 early at Tram Inn, it was recessed at Hereford awaiting a driver, then wouldn't start and finally left 45 down. Sounded healthy enough grunting up the hill though! I don't think I've ever seen so many gen group messages about a train, or had so many text messages. Thanks to all for this, no gen, no phots!
On March 20, 2016, the Universal Church celebrated Palm Sunday- the first day of Holy Week- the celebration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord.
At Saint John Cantius Parish, Masses in both the Ordinary and the Extraordinary Form were preceded by a solemn blessing and procession with palms, which commemorates Christ's entry into the Holy City of Jerusalem. During Mass, the Passion of Christ was solemnly proclaimed, announcing the beginning of Christ's sufferings which will culminate at Golgotha on Good Friday.
Sundays are lazy days. We spend the whole day relaxing in our backyard. Then, we get the grill ready to cook this beautiful cut of smoke ham. Seven minutes on each side to grill it to perfection. A side of fried potatoes and slices of grilled pineapple complete dinner. What kind of foods do you cook on Sundays?

We continued our journey to Rouen were we had our first French hotel - the very charming Hôtel De La Cathédrale. In the morning we went for a stroll through the city centre.
Breaking tradition by making Sunday brunch for Remco instead of Robert... I miss cooking for Robert, so cooking for his best friend will have to do, especially when Remco was hosting me for the weekend at his apartment ;-)
