Yet another Czech export plate in 2020 on an upscale car. This S-Class looks pretty nice, not sure why you've gotte import it from Plzen.

Tucked away deep in the middle of the Port Augusta workshops is a mix of different operator's locos, all stored most likely to never run again, including Pacific National's S307,8007 which arrived at Port Augusta for storage in May 2018 but previously stored at the AFT as well as all 3 cabless XRB class, built in 2005/2006 they have been stored at Port Augusta for a number of years after a short life.

One Rail Australia's GM44 can be seen just hiding behind a tree having been withdrawn at the end of 2007.

SCT's T404 is also stored, probably the most recent of the stored locos

Impressive. They don't call this generation S-Class 'The Cathedral' for nothing here in NL.

There are indeed several Mercedes S-Class models that were extended in the style of the Mercedes 600 Pullman. Apparently, there remained a certain demand for such luxury limousines, even after production was stopped in Sindelfingen. They seem to compete in luxury and extravagant equipment. With a length of 6.998 mm, this is the longest one we could find. It was built by one of the most productive tuners, especially when it comes to Mercedes : Schulz Tuning. He created the most diverse models, preferably bearing the star, ranging from a Golf clone based on a Mercedes 190 to an entire series of G-Class off-road vehicles with 6 wheels, long before Mercedes did it themselves.

In the 1920s, the Victorian Railways built an express passenger locomotive for the express run from Melbourne to Albury (where passengers changed trains – and gauge – to continue on to Sydney). These were the first three-cylinder locomotives designed in Australia.

Four locomotives were built between 1928 and 1930. In 1937/38 they all were streamlined in blue and gold livery for the new “Spirit of Progress” service. Tenuis is currently building the streamlined version. I like the lines of the original, and as a bonus, the locos were painted in a red livery from 1934, unlike so many VR locos which were plain back.

The initial boiler design and cab are from Teunis’s design. I just got the loco finished in time for this weekend, although there are a few more details I may add later. It ran well on it’s first outing other than the cow catcher falling off a few times.

A Mercedes-Benz S-Class V126 photographed in Shanghai, Shanghai municipality, China.

I spotted this Mercedes V126 in May 2012 around Hongqiao area.

This Mercedes has a very interesting license plate.

Indeed, the 沪A-Z1234 plates were the first to be issued for private buyers (with new plates launched in 1992) in Shanghai.

Mostly of them are now used by recent expensive cars but we can still see original cars with these original plates.
