The Streamliners dig in on the big curves at Huddlestone in the Mid North of South Australia on 28 October 2016.

Southern Shorthaul Railroad's vintage bulldogs, with a combined age of 231 years, S317/GM27/GM10/S302 on a wagon transfer from Port Augusta to New South Wales.

The hoppers were previously used on the Leigh Creek to Port Augusta power station coal traffic which ceased in April 2016.

Lined up around the turntable at Goulburn , New South Wales, during the recent Streamliner 2022 event are GM19 in Australian National colours; Australia's oldest revenue earning loco, GM10 in Southern Shorthaul Railroad colours; and S303 in Victorian Railways blue and gold.

All three were built in Australia by Clyde Engineering, GM19 and GM10 for the Commonwealth Railways and S303 for the Victorian Railways. GM19 is privately owned and a bit of a wreck that may get restored to working order one day. GM10 continues in service with SSR, while S303 is preserved in operational condition by the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre,

ALL SET TO DEPART JUNEE FOR GOULBURN 2022 STREAMLINERS EVENT

No Man's Sky Next

Found this old shot and thought i'd share..

S317 and GM27 pair up to work T279 from Port Botany to Yennora, seen here crossing Unwins Bridge Road, Sydenham.

S300 and B76 can be seen edging into the platform at Gosford, waiting for a passenger train on platform 3 to depart to Sydney. Both locomotives are owned by CFCL Australia, and at the time were on lease to Interail (QRNational) to operate 1451/4152 Sydney (Yennora) to Broadmeadow (and return) freight. These trains conveyed loading to/from Brisbane and Melbourne, whereas the Brisbane and Melbourne bound trains would pause to attach/detach Sydney loading. It was not uncommon for these trains to be used for loco balancing movements, should extra motive power be required for one of the north/south trains.

If some of these photos look familiar, they probably are - I'm organising my photos from 2008, and taking the oppertunity to rework some of them and either upload for the first time, or replace older photos.

4204, GM10 and S317 blast through East Maitland, where bridgeworks are underway to replace the existing road overbridge at this location. Bridgeworkers give a wave to the passing train, the noise alone generating a pause in work and a glance of interest.

Venerable GM 42 Class unit 4204, owned an operated by The Lachlan Valley Railway was relaunched into service after overhaul on February 13, 2010 with a tour to Dungog and back. 4204 was accompanied by similar veteran units S317 and GM10, both on loan from Southern Shorthaul Railroad. GM10, recently purchased by SSR from CFCLA is the oldest diesel locomotive still in commercial operation in Australia.
