The last two routes operated were the 218 & 219 from Kingston depot and they provided a frequent service from Kingston and Staines/Weybridge.
At the 2019 event my shots were taken in Kingston Cromwell Road bus station, Weybridge The Heights, and Staines bus station.

To commemorate 100 years since the founding of the Devon General Omnibus & Touring Company in 1919, a bus rally and running day was held at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 4th August 2019. The event was well-attended by enthusiasts and the general public, and numerous vehicles were on display, mainly former Devon General buses but also featuring vehicles from other fleets in the South West and further afield. The event was well supported by local enthusiast groups and by Stagecoach South West, the successors to Devon General, who had a number of their own vehicles and staff in attendance.

RM 1361, complete with PT (for Purfleet) garage code, rests at Lakeside Bus Station in between duties on the X55 (Upminster-Lakeside-Bluewater-Gravesend). Although journeys on the X55 and X81 (Shenfield-Grays) were advertised as through trips, in practice vehicles and crews were often swapped over at Lakeside.
DR661 is a Weymann-bodied AEC Regent III, a typical example of the large number of such vehicles that entered service with Devon General in the earlier part of the 1950s - DR661 was new in 1952 and withdrawn in 1965. It is now owned by the Devon General Omnibus Trust and carries period adverts that would have been applied to buses allocated to Torquay depot.
A side view to show the hand-painted advert for Grey Cars tours - in the post-war period Devon General were no slackers in promoting their services to visiting holidaymakers and locals alike and had a very active publicity department. This is Imperial Road, Exmouth during the Running Day on Sunday 4th September, and DR661 has its side blind set for its next route 5 run to Woodbury.
