To commemorate 100 years since the founding of the Devon General Omnibus & Touring Company in 1919, a bus rally and running day was held at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 4th August 2019. The event was well-attended by enthusiasts and the general public, and numerous vehicles were on display, mainly former Devon General buses but also featuring vehicles from other fleets in the South West and further afield. The event was well supported by local enthusiast groups and by Stagecoach South West, the successors to Devon General, who had a number of their own vehicles and staff in attendance.

WDK 562T is a Plaxton Supreme IV-bodied AEC Reliance, new to Yelloway Motor Services of Rochdale in 1979.
Yelloway coaches would have been a familiar sight in South Devon during the Summer months, on their large network of Holiday Express routes from the Lancashire Mill Towns. The X5 was the Rochdale to Torquay route.

The 4th Leicester Transport Heritage Trust running day featured lots of old buses and even free rides. I expected that Son #1 (13 years), Daughter #1 (10 years) and Daughter #2 (6 years) wouldn't be that interested, but much to my surprise they were delighted and enthusiastic to have a look round and were genuinely interested.
