What better way to welcome in 2023 than pop down to Gosport & Fareham to enjoy The Provincial Society's 'Ale & Ride' running day! Twelve buses took part operating 13 return journeys via Stubbington and Titchfield calling at 8 pubs along the way.

Seen here in Skipton Bus Station at the end of an eventful day and after most of the crowds have gone is Blackburn Corporation 133 a 1949 Guy ArabIII CBV433 with the 16.45 Skipton to Broughton service.

Ah, well, once again the Kirkby Stephen event didn't happen. So here's a memory from 10 years ago - and here's to next year.

Preserved Alexander Midland MRF120 (SMS 120P), probably one of the nicest Fleetlines I've ever encountered.

An unusual and welcome visitor to Aldridge was this beautiful 1933 Riley Monaco. Aldridge Transport Museum, Walsall, UK.

Here's ex-London United and ex-UNO DPS585 (SN51TCX) sitting outside Tolworth station after braking down on the way to Brooklands.

Leyland Super National in Rotherham South Yorkshire January 2023. New in 1974 but first registered in 1976, it is now preserved in the Lincolnshire area. Out on a road run organised by the Chesterfield 123 Preservation Group and illustrated here at the South Yorkshire Transport Trust site.

Pictured arriving at the wonderful NWVRT event, looking lovely in the fine sunny weather.

A month or so back, I encountered 408 at the Museum of Transport's North West 100 celebrations, where she sported GMT destination and via blinds. Now there has been a modification, with a Selnec-era destination blind in place; and - best of all - the via screen completely taped over, to reflect Charles Street's then total rejection of the via blind concept.

Lothian Buses - Heritage Fleet '595' in central Edinburgh on the recent runnind day held in together with their doors open day at Central Garage.

Lothian Buses keep their fleet so well it is actually hard to distinguish what is preserved and the current fleet.

Atlantean '595' makes a fine sight as it enters Princess Street on a short working on cross city route 16.

The Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust provided today's entertainment in the form of a Farewell to Southampton's Red Buses running day. With the busy hub in Pound Tree Road, there were 3 routes to sample using 10 preserved former Southampton buses ranging from a 1951 Guy Arab III to a 1999 Dennis Dart. A great day out and a chance to catch up with a great many people!!
