A quick trip out of curiosity to the station at Shrewsbury to check out what looked like an engineers running around and running back to Crewe.

Pleasantly surprised to see 56096 with the job on a lovely sunny morning.

This was to form an 0930 departure on 14-5-17.

230009 D-Train approaches Malvern Link on 26-2-21.

The working is the 5Q41 1445 Long Marston to Wrexham General ECS. Running 39 minutes late off Long Marston and 40 down by Malvern. At least the sun came out. It had returned to Long Marston for a wiring fault to be rectified.

The signal is on green and thankfully a Great Malvern to Paddington had just passed. Had I gone to my intended location I would almost certainly have been 'bowled'.

Would you, yeah

Would you still think about it when you up?

Don't think about me when I'm gone

Wild ponies of Dartmoor running free in the morning light. Amazing to witness and photograph.

Providence & Worcester train NR-2 returns eastbound at Miner Lane in Waterford just after 6:30 AM. This train normally runs in the cover of darkness on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor but was running a bit behind this day which allowed for a quick photo before school. Miner Lane is one of eleven grade crossings that still remain on the Shore Line.

I think I see a running dog.

Loaded stone train, 712-24, crosses the remnants of the Ohio & Erie Canal, now a park, just north of downtown Akron. They're running a couple hours behind as they finish up their trip on the former AC&Y mainline across Ohio.

Sea outside Aveiro has a deserved reputation of being rough, and dangerous. Sportsboat speeds to port as sunset approaches.

Here are the most Popular Pictures from my stream. Thanks !

Sandersville Railroad has plenty of reasons to visits. One of many is the street running. In this case we see Sandersville's slug leading the way. This is a very busy railroad, plenty to keep a photographer busy.

Macro Monday Theme: Run

I've been away for the weekend with extended family and had a busy week prior so didn't have time to be particularly creative. So a very quick & focused shoot again this morning: running stitch on my denim jeans, I do love a bit of denim!

Always appreciate your favourites and comments. HMM to everyone!

The wolves aren’t visible in this frame, but we heard their howls. Elk don’t linger long on open ground—especially not with calves.

I've always liked this photo, but technically, it was bad. I've discovered that f/4.0 on the 24-105 lens produces soft lines, and 10000 ISO isn't the best, even for my camera that sees in the dark. I made a B&W out of it, and gave it some PP tweaks. The result now respectable, I think.

Milan, Italy...

I've started running again, partly because I want to shake it up a bit from cycling but also for cross-training.

It's cold here, so I've been gearing up appropriately and have finally found a happy medium for running gear (pictured).

Need better shoes though: the Nikes above are years old (though were barely used) and I like the Adidas cross trainers I've been using of late but I need some better support. I'll be looking into more traditional running brands like Asics, Mizuno and Brooks.

Places like this lonely country road are a sort of no-man's land. They are visited and viewed only from passing vehicles. They are not intended for pedestrians. They are in fact pedestrian-hostile and you take your life in hand to venture along here on foot. I glanced at the faces of drivers of cars and trucks as they sped past me. They seemed surprised at my presence...not at all accustomed to seeing anyone here. This was no place to linger. I got what I came for and moved out as quickly as possible.
