Countess Philippina von Herberstein had a garden planned on the slopes of the Vienna woods in 1767. In the beginnings of the 19th century it was a meeting point for High-Society. 1935 it was opened to public. In the second world war it was hit by aerial bombs. Today “Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark” is a habitat for two giant sequoias (Sequoiadendron giganteum), Aesculapian Snakes which you will not see, other seldom domestic animals, and for the “Singende Quartett”.
These four statues have been standing outside on the “Wiener Ringtheater” until it burnt down completely in 1881, killing over 300 people. And if you get a certain perspective of one of the statues, you cannot be quite sure, if it is singing, or actually still running away.
This is a photograph from the second running of the newly situated Irish 3/4 Marathon (formerly the Athlone 3/4) which was held in Longwood, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 8th of October 2017 at 10:00. The event is positioned perfectly in the calendar as a key training race before the Dublin City Marathon at the end of the month. This year was the second year that the event was held in Longwood, Co. Meath which is now well known for its hosting of the Longwood 10KM/5KM annual races and a host venue for East of Ireland Marathon series marathons on a bi-annual basis. The race started and finished at Longwood GAA club just outside the village of Longwood. It followed an anti-clockwise course around the beautiful picturesque countryside of south Meath. The course went through the townlands of Longwood, Castlerickard, Killyon, Hill-of-Down, Anneville and Ashfield Clonard, Blackshare, Stoneyford and back to Longwood. The river Boyne and Blackwater were crossed as was the Royal Canal and the Dublin-Sligo Railway line at Hill-of-Down. Overall this was a very different course to the previous years in Athlone. The overall elevation of the course works out at 3/4 of the total elevation of the Dublin Marathon course. What most stood out about today's race was the course and how the countryside around it looked on a beautiful almost perfect Autumn morning. There was a large local effort with stewarding and many local people watched from their gardens as the race passed by. The organisation of the race was first class with every detail taken care of from the start until the finish. There was some rain showers from about 13:00 onwards but these soon passed.

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

Arizona Falls is on the Arizona Canal in Phoenix, they have restored what was once a local attraction-- a cascade of water in the irrigation canals.
The first running of the Donadea Running Club 5km Trail race was held within the trails of the Donadea Forest Park, Donadea, Stapelstown, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 20:00 on Friday 27th July. The route takes the opposite direction to the 5km loop used in the well known Donadea 10km race and the Donadea 5OKM ultra race. Over 300 runners took part with all of the Athletics Clubs of Kildare and surrounding areas well represented.
This race is part of the North Kildare 5K Running Series.
Donadea Forest Park is located in north west Co. Kildare close to the border with County Meath. It is about 50 kilometers from Dublin. The forest is now a very mature forest with a vast array of habitats and a lake. It is over 640 acres in size. The Park is managed by Coillte.
This is a set of photographs taken at the race by Rory Mooney and Family. Taking photographs of fast moving people, in a forest, in the evening time is about as tricky a gig as a photographer can be given. We did our best to capture a good selection of photographs. Unfortunately we had a lot of blurred pictures.
How can I get a full resolution copy of these photographs?

This is a photograph from the start of the 5th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 1st June 2016 at 20:00. Almost 200 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running with the fast course and good weather providing personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. The course starts at the base of a long challenging hill which then brings runners on a beautiful 3KM loop around the roads and laneways in the hills before turning back towards Multy village and taking the advantage of the downhill which was tackled at the start of the race.

This is a photograph from the 2nd Annual Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon which was held in Dublin, Ireland on Monday 4th August 2014 at 08:30. The Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon also incorporated the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National Half Marathon Championships which was open to all eligible runners registered with an AAI affiliated athletics club. The race started in Dublin City center at North Wall Quay and Castleforbes Road on the Liffey. The route then went West out of the city bringing runners along the famous South Quays to Inchicore and then taking a slight northerly direction into the Phoenix Park. The race finished in the Phoenix Park with runners following over half of the course within the grounds of the famous park. Over 7,000 people took part. The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series is one of the largest running series in the world with events primarily taking place in North American Cities. However, recently the franchise has spread to Europe. One of the unique aspects of the race is that every course features live bands along the course along with cheering teams of supporters at water stations. In the Phoenix Park today there was a large entertainment area at the Finish line for competitors, families and friends to enjoy.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - While driving across the high plains of southeast Montana I spooked a herd of 10 pronghorn antelope. There is only one animal in the world that can run faster than a pronghorn and that's the cheetah. They have been clocked at speeds up to 60 mph. Pronghorn are the only animals with forked horns and also have the only horns that are shed annually.
Award for completing the 2007 Fiesta Bowl Half Marathon, in Scottsdale (2:21 slow going!) -- this is just the half way in prep for my first Marathon a month from now.
I'm going back through old photographs this evening, currently sorting through the images I took in February/March 2011.
This particular photo is of my friend, Ava. We tried doing a photo shoot that day with another friend, Jenny, but it went pear-shaped because of the British weather. The shadow in this amazes me because it looks like a girl running. It's almost like two photos in one.
