It was quite early in the morning but the sun was already up and the light was very bright and harsh.

I had to lie prone on the look-out deck to photograph this duck in order to avoid the glare from the water and the background reed vegetation.

A puffins life, constantly being harassed by gulls

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and fave my photo.

Friday was a busy day for the coots, with lots of opportunities for us to catch the coots chasing.

On this one I like the feathers touching water

A small vessel passes in front of the setting sun. I like this image, in particular, because of the mock-mirage of the sun. This occurs when a layer of cooler air is trapped below an inversion layer, creating the appearance of a sun that is no longer round.

This is the same bufflehead I shot last week at Commonwealth Lake on takeoff. This was just before the other shot.

Bufflehead (F) needs a running start for taking off.

Image taken at ISO 5000, the noise is quite apparent. Nevertheless, I find the reflections and the overall image scheme quite pleasing.

Running on Patras city coast near new port.

I know, panning is not everybodys liking, but me I like it. I still have to improve in that technique.

I was set up in the alley to get some shots of people passing by when all of the sudden a guy comes running down the alley with a car behind him. Being an idiot photographer, I keep shooting and don't get out of the way. I end up with three shots of the guy running, none of which alone really tells the story. Thanks to the miracle of photoshop, I have added the last shot of the figure into the first shot of the sequence. I normally only use photoshop for slight exposure adjustments and minor cropping but I could not help myself in this case. FYI the car turned on to the street and the guy was an accountant running to catch a train. Nothing sinister all.
