We were just about to leave the Sammy Miller motorcycle museum when I spotted these two ptarmigans who appeared to be having a race between the vintage petrol pumps.
After our snowfall of two nights ago I visited the lake. It looked like January, not mid March. Daylight Savings Time is here, but the essence of Spring is yet to come.
While it isn't GBW Alcos handling boat traffic across Wisconsin, L576 is about as good as it gets on the Whitehall Sub nowadays. With work completed at Badger, Kress, and Hixton, the crew can sit back and enjoy some of Wisconsin's scenery as they pull towards Rapids. The great group of guys working out here will certainly warrant a few more trips in the future.
It's a cold, damp day in the East Bay Hills. Not an ideal time to be out and about....unless you love trains. After four years of drought in Northern California, I now have the opportunity to railfan in the rain. It presents many challenges, and can be uncomfortable at times, but overall, it's a kick!
The crew of a westbound OIG train at Christie, CA looks puzzled and dumbfounded to see a railfan standing in the rain photographing a train. Do I care....no!

The 140 Vintage Running Day on 23rd November 2019 commemorated the service of route 140 to Heathrow Airport, with RTs, RMs and Ms running the full route from Heathrow up to Harrow Weald, Bus Garage. Some journeys even continued along the old 140 route to Mill Hill (which is now the 114).
The weather was typically wintry: dark and wet, but nonetheless the day offered the potential for a number of unique photos.

This is one of the photos I took at the stud Haupt- und Landgestüt Marbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in early June. The foal is a pure-bred Arabian, very cute and full of energy. I love to watch them playing and running around on the pasture for the mere joy of life.

Cars and train run in parallel whilst crossing Chepstow railway bridge. This is the second shot from my brief visit here with both diverted workings only minutes apart. 6F15 17:24 Severn Tunnel Junction to Westbury Down Yard.
Kicking up the snow as it speeds towards Birmingham 172 232 is at work on the 11.28 Dorridge - Stourbridge Junction train. The photograph was taken from the end of Tyseley station platform 3 during falling snow, 18/01/2013

DRGW 477 (DSNG 473 re-numbered) winds along the Animas River as the K-28 approaches Tank Creek on a stormy afternoon.
66053 runs through Energlyn & Churchill Park station between Llanbradach and Aber on its way to Port Talbot with another coal delivery. The first services from the station ran on 8 December 2013. 6C93 10:39 Cwmbargoed Opencast Colliery to Port Talbot.
The Harwich Boat train has arrived at Manchester Piccadilly's P5 and the engine is running round. I'm not sure of date, early 70s I think.
This nightscape is a double exposure shot of one of the small alleys in Dotonbori area, the city centre of Osaka. In Japan even the smaller streets are a mesmerizing maze of glowing neon lights and lanterns and offer fantastic shooting opportunities, especially when the night comes.
Here the slihouette of a girl walking fast towards me gave me the opportunity of creating this artwork: most likely she's going to one of the many izakayas still open at that time of the night, but I imagined: " what if she's escaping instead"? Is she running from someone...or from something? If yes, who, or what?
...or maybe is she just running from herself?

Normally an overnight turn run to Texas City, this LHB89 is running late enough to see daylight as it rolls down UP's Galveston Sub through suburban Houston. The train also normally sees just a single wide-cab, so UP 1399 is likely heading down to Texas City to swap power with the LHB31 (GH&H Local) or YGA55 (Galveston Yard Job).
