Back to Snug Harbor on Staten Island for the NYC Lantern Festival. The crowds were minimal on this very chilly weeknight.
During these stressful times it’s always a good idea to get outside and enjoy what your local area has to offer. One could spend a lifetime exploring their own backyard.

Sunrise in Rocky Mountain National Park...I was actually going for the mountain view that was behind me when I caught a glimpse of light out of my eye and when I turned around I about fell of this rock...I quickly found a spot, switched lenses and began to shoot...It was a crazy morning for sure but fighting the winds and cold was sure worth it.
It was a very early 4am start to head out and capture this shot. My fellow photo buddy and I found a place close and headed out. The moon had just set and the milky way was rising just ahead of the sun which can be seen on the Horizon. It was a great adventure!
Arkansas is a state located in the Southern region of the United States. Its name is of Algonquian derivation, denoting the Quapaw Indians. The state's diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozark and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the densely forested land in the south known as the Arkansas Timberlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River and the Arkansas Delta. Known as "the Natural State", the diverse regions of Arkansas offer residents and tourists a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation.
Arkansas is the 29th largest in square miles and the 32nd most populous of the 50 United States. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the central portion of the state, a hub for transportation, business, culture, and government. The northwestern corner of the state, including the Fayetteville–Springdale–Rogers Metropolitan Area and Fort Smith metropolitan area, is also an important population, education, and economic center. The largest city in the eastern part of the state is Jonesboro.

Bekevar Presbyterian Church was built in 1911 by settlers in one of the largest Hungarian settlements in Canada. It's architecture was loosely based on a large church in Debrecen, Hungary. It is unique in Saskatchewan.

On the way back from Seneca Rocks, we stopped again at Germany Valley, but this time it was for the Milky Way. This shot is a single exposure and was a bit hard to compose, given that the sign wasn't placed perfectly how I wanted it. Nonetheless, I was able to capture this awesome shot of the sign and the Milky Way over the nearby town!

Panorama consisting of 13 individual photos, processed in PSCC 2015 and Lightroom. Used Rokinon 14 mm lens.
This is a panorama stitched from 4 shots with a 14mm 2.8 Rokinon lens. The small crescent moon was setting helped aluminate the foreground. Only a couple days a year does it happen with the Milky Way rising.
This is a photo of the Milky Way over Moore Reservoir in Littleton, New Hampshire. It was shot with a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Super Wide-Angle Lens. The lens is fully manual (both manual focus and manual exposure).
On a vey busy, very wet, Saturday evening in Times Square, this chap climbed onto the sign, did his handstand, and melted back into the crowd www.cloudtogroundimages.com
I love the way stars keep changing their positions. I love the way gentle wind kisses our dry skin. I love the way we sleep covering ourselves with the soothing twinkling night sky. Some nights do hold the magical fairy-tales I read in old books. One way to make peace with darkness is by exploring it.
and yeah I know, I am sensitive and I won't change a bit ever. I have seen people who are dying because they can't feel emotions anymore. Always been a kid at heart, walking alone but chasing and living my dreams ;)
I'm not sure what this line delivers but it spanned one massive field before dipping under the road to resurface in another field and stretch off into the rising sun.

Canby's Cross in Lava Beds National Monument marks the site of U.S. Army General Edward Canby's death during the Modoc War peace talks.
It reads, succinctly: "Gen Canby USA was murdered here by the Modocs April 11 1873."

Taken at Bixby Bridge north of Big Sur at around 4:25 am. This was supposed to be just a shot of the Milky Way over the bridge, but a truck drove into the shot, which ended as the truck reached the far end of the bridge. I thought it looked kinda cool, so I used it.
This is composed of two shots: one of the sky and truck, and the other of the rest of the bridge and foreground. The sky shot was 30 seconds, the foreground was 2 minutes.
Both shots taken with a Canon 6D, Rokinon 14mm at f/2.8, and ISO 6400.

Palouse Barn under the stars. The Leonids Meteor shower was kind of a bust but discovering this barn while out chasing meteors was an unexpected bonus.
Whenever I drive out on the Palouse I look for barns that might work well for night photography but they are hard to come by. They usually are next to farmhouses with lots of lights. This weathered old beauty was all by it's lonesome right next to the road. I love the patina of the paint, and the triangle design on the end wall. I almost fell in a creek getting this shot and it felt like it was 2 degrees out, but it was worth it.
I used the headlight of my car, covered in a pillow case, to illuminate the barn. (25 seconds, 4000 ISO, f2.8)
