My description is accurate the wispy bits above the granaries were flashing and moving like a strobe light!
Brad Russell and I moved from the reflecting pond to this farm to capture a new composition. I captured myself when the other photographers left the location giving my the light
a most amazing aurora with fast moving bright aurora patches, I posted a shot I called the pulsating wisps and that is accurate
another aurora chase with Brett Abernethy. I drove since it was my turn neither of us had enough sleep from the night previous, I chose Lochend lake for our first stop. The aurora was "big" this is looking West/NW the only problem we were too close to the highway, too many cars lots of aurora chasers! More to follow
Brett Abernethy was driving and we had a van full with 2 novice aurora chasers 1 of them had never seen the lights before. Talk about a good first time!
the Milky Way on a clear Alberta night. I enjoy just looking at this photo and i remember being out on a great spring night with Brett Abernethy.
After a week under the grip of the worst influenza I can remember, I had the energy to put my kit together and brave 26 minutes of -51 celcius weather to get some pretty decent shots of the aurora outside my apartment tonight. It has been a disappointing year for a astral gazer with lots of missed opportunities due to poor weather but tonight we evened the balance sheet.
ODC hidden in the darkness
the aurora suddenly brightened on the western and eastern horizon I started shooting east and then I could see the pink at the base of the bright curtain to the west seen here., The reflection shows the colour but the curtain was over exposed, If you take the time to view this photo there is Venus and Zodiacal light at the horizon and pink curtains in the distance. my time-lapse of this event vimeo.com/125315110?ref=tw-share
