Sophie was doing some early morning exploring.She is very restless because of the heat.
My wife Linda and I went camping up in north west of NSW on the weekend. Had a great time photographing birds and enjoying camping in the bush and relaxing by the camp fire. This bird and it's mate decided that the tree next to our tent was a great spot to spend time in and allowed full frame shots like this one. Restless Flycatchers make a most unusual grinding sound and in fact one of it's common names is "Scissors grinder". It was making that noise when I took this shot.

In one of the quietest areas we visited, some of the younger wildebeest seemed to be pretty restless and kept chasing each other.

Inspired by my restless nights sleep last night. My constant movements all night gave me an idea of the photo when was trying to get to sleep, hopefully it won't be the same tonight
The Chepangs is an ethnic group which used to be nomadic. Only recently have the settled and their settlements are high up in the mountains. Only a few years ago they did not have any running water and had to bring up water from below but with the help pf Restless Development and their partner NGO Prayash Nepal they now have running clean water from springs diverted into resovoirs and the connected to taps inther settlement. This not only give them clean water to drink, it also improve hygiene dramatiaclly and improve health and it saves precious time for the women who now spend the 4 hours it used to take getting water growing healhty vegetables.

I took this shoot many month ago.
Never pass my standand at the point in time. So, I didn't post to share.
This pictures with the man and his restless look added something to this pictures. As you can see focus is out. I trying to learn to like blurred pictures more and more.

Hillston - Lake Woorabinda River Reserve. I love these birds, and tried very hard to video this pair as they did their "scissor grinder" call while hovering hoping to dislodge insects below. (I did get the call but not much of the vision :) and might post later).
February 1, 2011-- I have this problem with Restless Leg Syndrome. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it basically means your legs have this itching to move. For me, it feels like something is crawling up my legs and I have to move them in order for it to stop. Or, in a severe case, my legs will just hurt if I don't move them. It doesn't happen terribly often, but last night I wasn't able to sleep at all because my legs were freaking out. So any free time I had today was spent in bed, trying to catch up on my Zzzzzs.
