more rain this week-end for this memorable wet winter of 2017 in the SF Bay Area, even small hail today and finally a colorful show to close the afternoon.

Been sitting here working and listening to The Wall... Okay more listening than working, I've maybe written a page. Anyway, I glanced over at the toys on my desk longing to be photographed when the following occured to me: Yoda and Ben are about to kick the shit outta the Joker!
Waiting for the Medieval Festival to begin.

just printed! its a photo zine showcasing half a year of living (and fighting) in Philadelphia. fourteen pages of 35mm photos, mostly color, with footnotes and a sappy narrative at the end. binding stitched by hand. in pocket size. costs three bucks.
you can get one on this etsy thing*, or contact me (brybry@riseup.net) if you wanna trade or do it the good old way, sending me cash in the mail.
and let me apologize and say i wish i didn’t have to charge three bucks for a zine, but i’m in a new city with no (color) copy scams. and its shiny kind of.

Rare visitor to these parts. Largest of the 6 species of “Myiagra” flycatchers. Constantly in motion and noticeable from its distinctive calls, one being a flycatcher “bzzzrt bzzzrt” and other a clear piping rapid “toowee toowee toowee”. Open forest and woodland and catches prey by hover or perch pouncing. Seen at Jerrabomberra Wetlands ACT.
I felt restless and i felt soft
Didn't know anymore who I was ripping off
I packed a picnic lacking seriously on food
Had more wine than i knew what with to do.
I just dont know what it is
I just dont know what it is
To be free
To hold and have somebody lean on me.

When the temperatures drop in September and the air gets nippy, for some reason, I start getting excited for Halloween.
I'm just like a kid .....when I get scared in Haunted Houses or watching a seriously scary movie, my heart pounds and I literally go into panic mode. All I want to do is run and hide, but I make myself stay and experience the thrill. Even if I'm shaking with my hands firmly over my eyes and ears and ready to pee my pants.
I went to the city cemetery a few nights ago just after sunset. I entered it alone. I wasn't by myself while I walked around it. There was some activity going on. I kept telling myself to stay calm and keep snapping pictures...there's nothing here that can hurt me....and I kept pointing and shooting...and taking deep breaths.
I got a few workable shots, but I'm afraid I need more.
Taking shots while the sun is still out is safe but pointless in a cemetery....if you want the creep effect....
I'm psyching my self up for next time..*shudders with chills*
I seriously get freaked out doing this!
I can't decide if this one ended up with enough creep effect or if it's just too animated....
What do you think?
I loved the movie "The Crow".........I like the idea of someone coming back to avenge the death of their true love!!
Thank you very much to "Ghostbones" for the awesome handmade "Spooky Night" texture here:

These guys were cool. Here we are doing a video interview for the Satellite Battle of the Bands 2009 website.
She's living in the outskirts of Kiziltepe, a Kurdish town at the Southeast of Turkey. The majority of the population is internally displaced from their villages up on high mountains because of armed conflict that has been continuing for more than 20 years in the area. She's the youngest daughter of one of these families. She has many many many siblings, they pop up from each corner of their shanty home and look at us with restless eyes. They look like jungle kids.

Nothing to do but scuff down
the graveyard road behind the playground,
past the name-stones lined up in rows
beneath their guardian pines,
on out into the long, low waves of plains
that dissolved time. We'd angle off
from fence and telephone line, through
ribbon-grass that closed behind as though
we'd never been, and drift toward the bluff
above the river-bend where the junked pickup
moored with its load of locust-skeletons.
Stretched across the blistered hood, we let
our dresses catch the wind while clouds above
dimmed their pink to purple, then shadow-blue—
So slow, we listened to our own bones grow.
