Red-breasted Mergansers
These two males I believe are adults after checking their coloring in the Field Guide book. This was taken last year in January on the waterfront in Perth Amboy. I had never seen them before and they didn't spook I spent hrs watching them over a 3 day span.They would swim,preen,and dive under the water and then do the wing flap thing is was a amazing sight to see. And then one day when I went back there was only one left .and that one stayed even have a picture of it on the dock resting in the snow.
