Part of the new park in downtown Houston; Discovery Green. This is the analog to the other stucture that is similar but blue based. The patchiness on the blocks are shadows from the tree branches. I'll probably reshoot on a sunnier day. BEST SEEN LARGE!
It was the annual Steam Rally at the Lincolnshire Showground, and I was helping to man the Lincolnshire Mills Group marquee. The sun shone fitfully through storm clouds, and the pleasant smell of the many exhibits was in the air. Suddenly there was a loud roar, I dashed out of the tent, and just in time saw the Red Arrows doing a fly past over the Showground.
Great red clusters at the Elizabeth Gamble gardens in Palo Alto yesterday. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Free parking, free admission.

We are staying the same hotel as Obama, and the security detail is fascinating in its detail. Watched the motorcade arriving at midnight last night as we happened to be returning from dinner at the same time.
Another Instagram image via my Galaxy S3 phone. I find the effects on Instagram nice, but limiting so far. Maybe I need to explore it more and see what's available. There is another app on my phone that does effects on photos - some nice ones too. I guess I'll need to explore them both a bit more and then see what they can do.

La Hijuela del Botánico - the botanical garden in La Orotava. This small, sweet botanical garden centred around a magnificent drago tree was created as a branch of the larger JardÃn Botánico in Puerto de la Cruz. It is home to around 3000 different tropical and subtropical plant species mainly of South and Central American, African and Australian origin, as well as plenty of birds, butterflies and strategically located benches.

Czerwony kwiat w ogrodzie botanicznym w La Orotavie :)
Hijuela del Botanico - przepiękny ogród botaniczny, który założono w 1923 roku. Położony jest w samym sercu La Orotavy, za ratuszem. Jest niewielki, gdyż zajmuje ok. 0,4 ha, natomiast znajduje się tutaj ponad 3 tys. różnych gatunków tropikalnych i podzwrotnikowych roślin. To miejsce jest starannie wypielęgnowane a znakiem rozpoznawczym są wygrzewające się na murach jaszczurki. Hijuela del Botanico jest oddziałem większego ogrodu z Puerto de la Cruz.

Red Nose Day is the main way in which Comic Relief raises money. It is held in the spring every other year and is often treated as a semi-holiday, with, for example, schools having non-uniform days. The day culminates in a live television event on BBC1 starting in the evening and going through into the early hours of the morning, but other money-raising events take place. As the name suggests, the day involves the wearing of plastic/foam red noses which are available, in exchange for a donation, from many shops.
The first "Red Nose Day" was on 5 February 1988, and raised £15 million. The TV show was hosted by Lenny Henry, Griff Rhys Jones and Jonathan Ross. More than £300 million has so far been distributed to projects by Comic Relief.
Not like the Taylor Swift song. Today my office is doing a donation for the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women campaign. To show our support (along with our donation), we're all wearing red to work today. Seeing as red is one of my least favorite colors to wear... my options were limited. But you can always rely on plaid! Each year, thousands of women die every year from cardiac events - but we can change that because 80% can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Sounds good to me! So pass it on to the women in your life - take care of yourself!
