Why do I need this Protection?
Identity theft takes place when somebody uses your personally identifying information, such as your name, Social Security number, or your credit card number, without your permission, to commit fraud and other crimes.
The US government estimates that as many as 9 million Americans have their identities stolen every year. In fact, you or someone you know may have experienced some form of identity theft.
This crime takes different forms. Identity thieves may rent a house, get a credit card, or establish a telephone number using your details. You may not find out about the crimes until you check your credit card statement and notice charges you did not make - or until you’re contacted by a debt collection agency.
Identity theft is very serious. While some identity theft victims can resolve their problems quickly, others spend hundreds of dollars and a lot of time attempting to repair the damage done to their good name and credit history.
Some consumers victimized by identity theft may lose out on job opportunities, or be denied bank loans for school, housing or cars because of the negative data on their credit reports. In rare cases, they may even be arrested for crimes they did not commit.
During the pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19) the NHS staff essential clinics in full PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) to ensure safety. Most operations are still on hold, but the NHS are valiantly fighting to ensure everyone is safe. I obtained permission for this portrait.

The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) was a British animal protection and advocacy group that campaigns for the abolition of all animal experiments.
The BUAV was established in 1898 by Frances Power-Cobbe (1822-1904) to campaign against the use of dogs in vivisection. Frances had been a long-time campaigner against experimentation and cruelty to animals as well as helping establish other anti-vivisection societies before she formed the BUAV. In 2012, the BUAV merged with the New England Anti-Vivisection Society to establish Cruelty Free International, a new international organisation to campaign against the testing of cosmetics on animals.
In addition to campaigning and lobbying activities, the BUAV also produced their own publications including BUAV magazines as follows;
•The Abolitionist (1901-1949)
•The Antivivisectionist (1949-1969)
•AV Times (1969-1975)
•Animal Welfare (1972-1980)
•Liberator (1983-1991)
•Campaign Report (1991-1994)

I’m unsure what this badge was issued for and if anyone knows, I’d be grateful to hear from you. It may have been a membership badge but perhaps also, could have been issued as a promotional or fund-raising badge in support of its campaigns?

Yes, this is me. My wife lost her hat so she decided she wanted an umbrella to keep the sun off her on this hot day. I was called upon to go buy one and came back with this purple one. In Taiwan men actually do carry umbrellas to keep the sun off.
