Duxford Flying Legends 2016.
As is the norm at Duxford based air shows the flying was programmed to commence at 2pm prompt. Early indications were that weather was going to be against everyone, with low cloud, grey skies, strong winds and drizzle. As time moved forward and 2pm arrived the skies miraculously cleared revealing lovely blue skies, sun and fluffy clouds; an aviation photographers dream. Just before 2pm the rousing sound of Rolls Royce Merlin and Griffon engines could be heard along the crowd line as they began to taxi out down towards the end of the grass landing strip and ran up to full power to allow the oil in those V12 engines to warm up and circulate around the arterial passages around the famous pulsating heart of the Spitfire. Once cleared the Spitfire's roared off down the grass airfield and took to the air to form up, an evocative sight arcing back to Duxford’s days as an active airfield during World War Two. Once formed up and all systems checked the Spitfire's launched into their flying display with a sweep in from the left of the crowd line to begin their ''Tail Chase''.
July hails the midpoint of the U.K Air Show calendar, with what some may say is the World’s premier Warbird event ''Flying Legends''. Based at the Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridgeshire, The Fighter Collection brings together piston powered aircraft from across the globe to display to the adoring crowds, some of which themselves have travelled half way across the world to see the yearly spectacle. This specialist event displays all the grace, majesty and power these wonderful Flying Machines have to offer. Usually a strictly ''Piston Power'' only affair, this year was slightly different, with the inclusion of Jet Aircraft, but more on that revelation later. Flying Legends is a special kind of event, with the show ground taking you back to the 1940’s with re-enactors attired in period dress, the 1940’s Swing Style Vocals of the Manhattan Dolls, a Vintage Village with deck chair seating and Pimms Bar, and to top it off the mad cap antics of Laurel and Hardy with their Model T Ford.

For Inktober I decided to shoot film photography using the prompts. This is the image I got for Ridge. Framed by different branches is the shape of Hanging Rock, NC. Canon AE-1 with Kodak Gold 200 (October 18, 2024)
The top drawing had some gestural setup lines most of which i ignored when I got down to ink but I think they helped make it a better drawing.

Rolf Landerl ist neuer Juniors-Trainer! Der Ex-Admira Spieler und ehemalige Akademie Individualtrainer kehrt zur Admira zurück und wird ab heute, 4. Juli 2013 das Training der Admira Juniors leiten. Rolf Landerl ist am 24. Oktober 1975 geboren und erzielte als Aktiver für Admira 4 Tore in 34 Pflichtspielen. Landerl, der auch eine Reihe an Auslandsstationen absolvierte, bezeichnet sich selbst als „Legionär aus Leidenschaft“ und wird künftig genau diese Erfahrung an die jungen aufstrebenden Talente der Admira weitergeben.
"Wir freuen uns, dass Rolf an Bord ist. Wir sind überzeugt davon, dass wir mit ihm als Juniors-Trainer die Schlüsselposition und Schnittstelle zwischen Kampfmannschaft und Akademie sehr gut nachbesetzt haben", freut sich General Manager Alex Friedl über die Verpflichtung.
Rolf Landerl, ein Fußballglobetrotter - Der Fußballglobetrotter begann seine Karriere beim SR Donaufeld in der Wiener Stadtliga. Von seinem Stammverein wechselte er in die Jugendmannschaft von Rapid Wien. Nachdem er dort nicht in der ersten Mannschaft Fuß fassen konnte, ging er erstmals ins Ausland und wechselte in die slowakische Hauptstadt zu Inter Bratislava, wo er von 1994 bis 1997 in der ersten slowakischen Liga zum Einsatz kam. Der Transfer nach Bratislava kam eher zufällig zustande. Landerl sah in Österreich keine Möglichkeit Profifußball zu spielen. Dadurch entschied er sich für ein Auslandsstudium in der Slowakei. Nach einem Probetraining bei Inter konnte er überzeugen und erhielt einen Vertrag. Landerl wurde in Bratislava unter anderem vom späteren ÖFB-Teamchef Karel Brückner trainiert. Unter Brückner konnte er in der Saison 1995/96 den Gewinn des slowakischen Fußballpokals feiern. In seinem letzten Jahr bei Bratislava gelangen ihm 10 Tore in 26 Spielen, und prompt wurde man in Holland auf ihn aufmerksam.
1997 folgte der Wechsel zu AZ Alkmaar in die Niederlande. Mit Alkmaar schaffte er 1997/98 den Aufstieg in die Ehrendivision, verletzte sich aber und verpasste den Anschluss. Daraufhin wechselte der Wiener im Jahr 1999 zu Fortuna Sittard und 2002 weiter zum FC Groningen wo er bis 2004 unter Vertrag stand. Nach guten Leistungen in Groningen reichte es zu Beginn der Saison 2004/05 für einen Wechsel ins Fußball-EM-Gastgeberland zum FC Penafiel in die portugiesische Liga. Bei Penafiel bildete er ein Offensivgespann mit der FC-Porto Legende Ljubinko Drulović.
Anfang der Saison 2005/06 zog es den Wandervogel wieder in die Nähe seiner österreichischen Heimat, er spielte kurzzeitig für den FC Sopron in Ungarn. Neben Luigi Sartor und Giuseppe Signori war Landerl der dritte namhafte Legionär, den die ambitionierten Ungarn in dieser Saison verpflichteten.
Im Jänner 2006 kehrte Landerl nach Österreich zurück, vorerst zur Admira. Nach dem Abstieg der Admira in der Saison 2005/06 wurde er in der Sommerpause 2006 vom Grazer AK verpflichtet. Durch den Konkurs des GAK im Jahr 2007, wechselte er für die Saison 2007/08 zur Admira zurück, die damals aber zwischenzeitlich in die Regionalliga-Ost abgestiegen war.
Im Sommer 2008 wechselte er wieder in die erste Slowakische Liga zu DAC Dunajská Streda und erzielte bereits im ersten Meisterschaftsspiel gegen Spartak Trnava ein Tor. Zum Ende der Hinserie wurde ihm von Trainer Werner Lorant aber immer mehr das Vertrauen entzogen, und so fand er sich teilweise auch in der zweiten Mannschaft von Dunajská wieder. Daraufhin löste er im Winter seinen Vertrag nach 8 Einsätzen und einem Torerfolg auf.
In Folge wechselte er im Frühjahr 2009 zurück nach Österreich zum ASK Schwadorf in die 2. Landesliga Ost. Am 2.Juni 2009 gab er abermals einen Wechsel ins Ausland in die deutsche Regionalliga Nord zum VfB Lübeck bekannt. Dort sollte er den zurückgetretenen Dietmar Hirsch als Führungsspieler ersetzen. Nach 2 Jahren hat er den VfB Lübeck verlassen, in der Saison 2011/12 kehrte er wieder nachhause und spielte beim SV St. Margarethen in der Burgenlandliga, wo er zuletzt auch als Trainer aktiv war. Dazwischen war er auch in der Admira Akademie und bei den Admira Juniors als Individualtrainer tätig.

This is my prompt book for the current show. We're into the second week of rehearsal (#06) and start blocking tomorrow, so today's project was putting in my blocking pages. The tabs are for action breaks (only four scenes here) for rehearsal purposes and the colors tell me who's in it. In about two weeks, that clear white page of set will be covered in pencil scratchings and erasing and more scratches.
