Among the many things I love about working from home is the fact that I am here when the mail comes. These came in yesterday's mail. I ordered a few weeks ago and promptly forgot. So arrival of the packet yesterday was a nice surprise.
Spotted this beauty on my morning walk today - will have to go back later with my real camera and tripod!

This weeks prompt is 'Vintage'. My mom left me some amazing vintage bling. The moonstone necklace is my absolute favorite. I even wear it occasionally. But the box in which I keep all the glitter holds much more beautiful things I love.

about a month ago there was a fun day called "pARTy on the drive". A main drive was closed down and used to showcase local artists. I was particularly drawn to this woman who was creating her own glass beads. It was mezmerizing to see how she took a rod of glass and created different sizes and shapes of beads. She was even making beads in shapes that audience members asked her to do. This one ended up being a little fish. Of course, I bought one of her larger pieces -- a gorgeous pendant.

This is the third try with a detail from my painting.
It turned out quite different from the image prompt, but nevertheless, a interesting result. Since I tried the text promt without a image prompt before (which I deleted), I know it is important in this case to have a image to at least get some color in that follows my usual color schemes of my analog paintings.
Prompt #15 is all about writing on your photos, pretty much any way you want. It can be with marker, paint(thats what I did) Thickers, stamps..........you get the idea.
This is my piece, and it has an up close Polaroid of some tree bark in Central Park NY. The background was an experiment using pieces of patterned paper(had fun doing that) and the quote reads:
"Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better."

prompting some thoughts for Armed Forces Day, remembering that our support for those actively serving in the military, and support for veterans, is independent and separate from what the politicians may be telling the military to do. As citizens we must do all we can to prevent any frivolous sacrifice of our fellow citizens' lives while providing all support necessary for those called upon to carry out political policies. This picture was most likely taken early in 1970 at Tay Ninh Base Camp in Vietnam after I had been reassigned from serving as an infantry radio telephone operator to company clerk for Company B, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry.
