this might look a bit dogdy, but it tastes like chocolate. my favourite food when I was wee, and I still have it for breakfast sometimes.

I had a lovely day today photographing some of the principals in the Alloa Ballet Company's (www.alloaballetcompany.co.uk) 2011 show Alice In Wonderland. They were all beautiful, with fantastic smiles. So how to choose just one photograph as my Photo Of The Day?

Well, this is the one that I chose, because I like the depth of field effect. This poor hedgehog is about to be the ball in a game of croquet, and the Queen of Hearts looks pretty fearsome.

But please, click on the "201102 - Alloa Ballet Company" link on the right. These kids were so great, they deserve a look!

Day 72 , Project365

2013 - 202/365 - Land trifft Stadt

Very cloudy all day but the sun finally appeared for the last hour so I could take a photo of this substation for today's Project365 pic.

To the drivers passing.. no.. I wasn't planning a spot of domestic terrorism.

Nearly decided to go b&w but since there was some sun, kept it as colour.

Today, I had another panic attack. I wanted to do a better picture today but, I'm still not feeling well. I really hate that I'm having these lately. I was out looking for a car and it hit. I had to come home right away. I'm going to go to the doctor soon about it. I can't take it anymore.

2013 - 186/365 - Früchte-Torte

I think this one is fairly self-explanatory.

I grew up with mostly live Christmas trees -- my later childhood memories have nothing but. We had one that would get dragged outside after Christmas every year, and if it ever had other plans, they never came to fruition -- a year later, it'd be dragged back inside. It was sincere-looking. And harbored a rogue Redwall (?) mouse outside (!) for a year once (we thought it'd gotten lost, but it turned out it was just adventuring). This year marked my mom's return to live Christmas trees. (I think this one is on vacation from my stepdad's landscaping company? And I think it was his first live tree.) And she fell in love with this tree; it was intensely charming and beautiful and had profound sincerity without being "sincere." But live trees can only spend two weeks inside if you don't want them to die, so come the new year, it shed its decorations and migrated to the porch 'til it was time to go home.

New York at night fascinates me, especially Central Park. A sense of isolation and loneliness, particularly on a winter night. I captured this scene on the northern end of the promenade that circles the Great Lawn.

Gold star if anyone can guess what this is...

Miranda's tallest tower yet!

I like the color in this one a lot.

Technically a violation of Project365 rules, this picture was already taken on 11 Feb...

Day 130: I saw these yesterday walking around and today i came back and took a couple pictures of them

Edit: I reprocessed it after giving it a second look

One might ask if entering the walkway will soon require a walker's licence

Imbolc. The Celtic Fire Festival of first spring, the time when the goddess returns to the earth from the underworld, the time of birth when the first shoots push through the earth, baby animals are born and the light is perceptibly returning. This is the only festival in the celtic calendar solely dedicated to the goddess, to feminine energy, to the source of creation. It is a festival associated with Brighid who is the celtic goddess of the hearth, the goddess of creativity and of smithing. She represents all aspects of the triple goddess but specifically in this festival, the transition from maiden to mother.

This is a very special time for me. Since the beginning of the year, I have felt somewhat driven to get things in my life moving, to drive forward, to create my own reality and give things a good kick up the back side. Yet I know in my heart of hearts that this is not the way forward, it is just an expression of my frustration about where things are heading and that my expectations about the way things should be are not being met. This festival is a reminder of the power of receiving and allowing, that peace and prosperity just naturally flow when we allow things to be and don't resist the situation we find ourselves in. It is a reminder to allow ourselves to be flexible and go with the flow, especially at this stage in the creative cycle, inspiration and oneness are our rewards. These are all good reminders for me, one who is inclined to spin off into my masculine energy and just do things. The message of the season is "be" not "do"...the time for action is later. The place of focus right now is still within.

Day 68 , Project365

I've only ever worn a few colognes in my life - most I can't stand. This right here smells so good it makes me wanna hit on myself! :b

Dinner. I don't really want to talk about it. Today was marathon laundry and cleaning day and I realized around 10pm that I was starving.

Some blowing snow in the field near our project setup at work.

Did I mention it was -13degC here today....brrr!!

Summer may still be a few months away, but this strawberry lemonade already has me looking forward to warmer days.

One day at a time I'm trying to cut through the fog.

February 14, 2011 | Zaragoza.

We hung out in the courtard to make sure that the trick or treaters new we had candy. A decided there wasn't enough fear in Halloween anymore and tried to scare them.

I have signed up to do a Duathalon in March of this year. Part of the event is to cycle to about where I stood for this shot and run to the top of this hill (as far as the mast) and back down to the bikes! Only 8km!!! It nearly killed me to walk it!
