We visited the grave of Babsi's dad today.

Tonight at our bonsai club we had a lecture on Suiseki (viewing stones). This in one of the stones from our presenters collection.

Hope dangles on a string

Like slow spinning redemption

Winding in and winding out

The shine of it has caught my eye

And roped me in

So, mesmerizing,and so hypnotizing,

I am captivated,I am

Vindicated

I am selfish

I am wrong

I am right

I swear I'm right

Swear I knew it all along

And I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well

I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself

On my drive home today, while stopped in traffic under a street lamp, I looked up, grabbed my camera, and took this shot as the snow began to collect on my windshield.

Project365 Day 95: The Easter basket that the Heiligers made for us.

I put my camera on the macro setting and balanced it on the top of my glass of Japenese Flowering Jasmine Tea.

Today's Project 365 photo is of a couple of wind surfers out on the Lake.

I haven't seen any out on the water in ages, but with nice weather and a strong wind on this side of the lake, they looked like they were having a great time.

Domo meets the little turtle.~ My wife has been a crocheting fool of late. She made stuffed animals for all 3 of my kids, plus she has been cranking out baby booties right and left!...no pun intended.

Happy New Year!

My fire escape double as a winter aviary here in the Bronx. I awoke on Wednesday morning to find this fine feathered friend awaiting his morning coffee. Needless to say my cat was equally intrigued by this winter visitor. I'm not up on my ornithology, so any help with a indentification is welcomed. I have other shots of this fine bird's colleagues on my fire escape, but I felt this was the strongest image of my urban aviary.

I liked interplay of light and shadow against the sharp geometric angles

My files were lost in an accidental memory card format. After a whole week trying to recover them, I decided to just leave the blanks and move on, at least for now. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and the lack of uploads.

Our heater has been broken for what feels like forever. We carry this little guy we bought at Walgreens from room to room.

Pic #9 365 Moments 2008

Today's Project365 pic was snapped on my way back from seeing my family for Mothers Day.

This weekend is Ballarat Heritage Weekend, with many activities and displays all over town.

We usually have vintage trams that travel a section of the lake on weekends, but this weekend they had an old horse-drawn one as well.

Yup, scraping the creativity barrel today...

So I am starting off with a little lab theme. I promise to diversify, but for now, remember, for agarose gel electrophoresis, it's not just size that matters, it's also charge!

Yep, dorky science joke:)

Night Time/Human Car Edition

Straight off of work, at 11:45pm I rush into my apartment to take my FDT photo! I pulled a double again at work. (I love it, I mean who wouldn't love working around food all day?)

Sometimes I feel like a human car.... Every so often I get my oil changed, usually run my gas tank beyond the point of E before having another time to fill up at the pumps, all while looking forward to that moment where I can just sit in my parking spot and relax.

I wonder, if I had a mileage counter, how many times would I have reset the dial from 999,999 miles?

HFDT everyone! :)

Nearly forgot to put the green bin out for garden waste collection. Can't find it today so hoping its just been misplaced rather than stolen.

Ghost Reflection

Told I should have a self portrait in here early on. As I'm ill and look like hell this is the best that's coming for now!

Hide and Seek.

Nya's aunt came over to visit this afternoon and they both had a lot of fun playing hide and seek in and around Nya's Teepee.

Discovery of the multi-exposure function on my baby defiantly made my day. I'm happy now :)

Stuck in my room the whole day, went to bed at 7 am this morning then woke up at 1 by Mom's facetime call. Parents are going to Shanghai for two weeks from tomorrow, business trip.

Changed the essay question three times since yesterday, literally THE hardest essay I've ever wrote in my life. So damn stuck.

Apr 23 - I found this Double Crested Cormorant fishing in one of the ponds at Mt. Auburn Cemetery and was able to get a couple of decent shots. These guys are usually fairly elusive, but he must have been a Mt. Auburn regular - he seemed undisturbed with the folks walking by or me taking photos.
