We went into town and bought some books. I bought The Fault in Our Stars and Wreck This Journal. There was a nice wind.

Chip caught a young Blue Tit in the garden. They were probably just flying out, and an easy target for a cat. Even though Chip has a bell and is on a leash. This little one wasn't prepared. But before Chip could do any more damage I picked up the bird. It was bleeding and closing his eyes in my hands. Still we noticed there was a lot of life in him and we called the bird rescue in Simonshaven. The old lady said she would look after him and could give him some penicillin. It's not sure if it survived, but I think it wasn't mortally wounded. I really hope it wasn't.
Here it was sitting on a plant. It tried to fly away from us.
today i found loads of my old photography things from college, these pictures are from my final piece, which was rhythm and cycles, my whole theme was alice in wonderland, and the rhythms and cycles involved were falling, time, money and making tea and jam tarts, i was really pleased with the end results, i thought it was a unique interpretation :)

I've decided to jump on this bandwagon, finally. I'll take a picture every day, but I probably won't be able to upload each day. My project, my rules.
This was us from yesterday, and it represents what I want for this coming year. This was during Bean's nap. Monkey sewed together a felt bear while I knitted, and we both enjoyed a snack of cheese and crackers. All afternoons should be this serene.
2009 was a roller coaster of a year for us. I spent the better part of a month in Colombia with my family, lost my dad, graduated from college (again...heh), was away from my babies for a very long 3 months, hurt my leg pretty badly while in training, lived out one of my dreams and got my commission, ended a long-term relationship, moved away from all my family and friends to live in a small town, was away from my babies for another 6 weeks for more training, slowly worked my way back to running again, signed up for a marathon, spent the holidays with my girls and my family in California, and now....now, we're back in Texas, getting into a routine.
In two weeks, I start more training here in Texas. I'm looking forward to getting back into the things that help me find my center - running, cooking, hanging with the girls, and crafting.
I feel like I was bumped around a lot in 2009. So, really, at this point, there's not much that 2010 can throw at me....right?
Guru's feet:

Powerful vibrations of shakti flow from the Guru's feet. They are a mystical source of grace and illumination, and a figurative term for the Guru's teachings.
We are all our own Guru on this path.
Day 169: I went out shooting with jon to the pond near by (at the office park i often visit for photos) and the pond was drained for repairs. With most of the water pumped out..we found many interesting shots.

Today I visited the bright future kids project, located 20 kilometers outside Phnom Penh. It's a place where bright kids are being given extracurricular support. The terrain has dormitories, classrooms and a computer room. A house for (American) volunteers can also be found on the terrain, and you can't miss it with this sign!
Today's Project 365 is a sunset over the Beaufort Lake.
The spot where I had planned on taking the photo of had cars and fishermen in the way, so I ended up going for a walk towards town instead.

Rough day for the Fean pups; Quinn had four shots and didn't even wince and Crosby had tubes put in for the second time and his adenoids removed. With that said, ice cream was the theme of the day.
Tonight's Project 365 photo is another train themed one, but not exactly by choice.
I was working all day and it is still way to wet to do any outside long exposures, so I headed for the one place in town that has some good cover and a bit of action.
I'm happy with how this one came out. I was just hoping the guys standing next to the train as the passengers disembarked would have stood still for just a second or two more.
... and no... I wasn't train surfing to get this shot ;-)
Early on 1st February, I discovered I hadn't taken a photo on the 31st, and the only footage I had was a couple of seconds I'd captured for 1SE (1 Second Everyday, which I stopped at the end of January). This is a screenshot taken from that video... sorry, it'll have to do!
Day 26: Today the Fairfax County Fire Department visited our office several times this morning. Once for a real fire, then again around noon for some unknown reason. We were in a meeting the second time and only realized we had to leave b/c we looked out the window and saw everyone leaving. We couldn't here the fire alarm b/c it was only going off in the stair wells...
Project365 Day 59: Today wrapped up what was hopefully the last day of a month and a half of protests (http://www.flickr.com/photos/slolee/4285526849/). People have been living near the school the whole time and were told to get out by midnight tonight.
Today's Project 365 is of my Russian Kiev 30 that arrived yesterday.
Built similar to the original Kiev, feels solid and has a little weight to it.

August 2, 2011 Today me and Gaurav went to morgan crossing to do some clothes and cupcake shopping :) We went to ULounge, the food was AMAZING would deffs go back again. Later on that day saw Reena and Naveen. Me and Reena went to Guildford mall and did some shopping for our Whistler trip and after we had Nandos! Before we went home we picked up Marble Slab ice cream and again they did not have any reese's pieces I was disappointed! lol Overall fun day. :)
Well overnight we had a mixture of hail, sleet and a little snow.
It didn't really stick, it did make things look pretty, and it made things mighty slippy!
Finnish snow, it is not.
Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, in the Porta Nuova district. The piazza and surrounding buildings had the feel and look of parts of Singapore or Shanghai.
I don't know how many times I've driven the 5 between SoCal and the Bay Area. It's tied to my memories since I still consider myself an LA boy even though I've lived so long in the Bay Area. It's a freeway that we just want to get past. But it's also about leaving home. And coming home.
I recall my first time experiencing this barren landscape sitting in my dad's brown Datsun station wagon to visit our kaka in Vallejo. Since then, I driven up during college and had my car break down. I've enjoyed singing along with Radha Champaneria to MP3s on a massive pre-iPod MP3 player. And now we speed along with 3 kids and 2 dogs in the back switching between DVDs and songs the kids can sing along to.
I don't know how many more times I'll drive this road. But it's always going to hold memories for me and it's always going to connect two important places for me.
