Day 358, and some last minute additions for under the tree. Processed in Aperture using the “Toy Camera” effect.

Can't tell you much about this. There were three racks of next to a building where a guy in a hardhat was working, but I can't imagine their purpose. They were eye-catching, though.

Domo meets the little turtle.~ My wife has been a crocheting fool of late. She made stuffed animals for all 3 of my kids, plus she has been cranking out baby booties right and left!...no pun intended.

Buildings & Landscape Theme

Damai LRT Station, KL.

My files were lost in an accidental memory card format. After a whole week trying to recover them, I decided to just leave the blanks and move on, at least for now. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and the lack of uploads.

Our heater has been broken for what feels like forever. We carry this little guy we bought at Walgreens from room to room.

Pic #9 365 Moments 2008

Today's Project365 pic was snapped on my way back from seeing my family for Mothers Day.

This weekend is Ballarat Heritage Weekend, with many activities and displays all over town.

We usually have vintage trams that travel a section of the lake on weekends, but this weekend they had an old horse-drawn one as well.

Yup, scraping the creativity barrel today...

So I am starting off with a little lab theme. I promise to diversify, but for now, remember, for agarose gel electrophoresis, it's not just size that matters, it's also charge!

Yep, dorky science joke:)

Project365-2

hung out with the boyfriend all day :). me and my mom went to pick him up from the truck rental place, he came back to eat dinner with us, we left and went to the halloween store/walgreens, and we went back to his house and ate junk food and watched movies. he was on like 3 hours of sleep and acted so hyper all day, it was really funny :p; haha i love him.. i’ve been really hungry lately. putting on weight because i’m having the urge to eat like every 5 minutes lol

I need a new hair brush.

Ice

I feel like I have been slacking this week in terms of the amount of effort I am putting into taking these photos. For this one, I was just making some coffee so I could blow through some CS homework and notices these icicles out my windows. So bam. But I finished my homework and feel confident about a midterm I took earlier today, so I'm content with my overall productiveness of today.

I also feel super comfortable with my whole image processing and uploading workflow. It is streamlined and I can capture a photo and push it to Flickr in a matter of minutes. This is helpful because I am probably less likely to quit if the process is easy and fast.

seaners in unit on his bed. not one of his better days. listening to music.

Day 223: August 11, 2010.

Taken in Mount Pleasant.

World's Most Comfortable Chair

Moved down to Carol's apartment from Maureen's when Doyce arrived in the city today, and this evening, took good advantage of this amazing chair in her office, which I think may very well be the world's most comfortable. Doyce is sitting in it now, in fact.

Nearly forgot to put the green bin out for garden waste collection. Can't find it today so hoping its just been misplaced rather than stolen.

A lovely little new stationery store - I could not resist buying (another) journal.

Ghost Reflection

Told I should have a self portrait in here early on. As I'm ill and look like hell this is the best that's coming for now!

Hide and Seek.

Nya's aunt came over to visit this afternoon and they both had a lot of fun playing hide and seek in and around Nya's Teepee.

Saturday 14th Febuary 2009

Had an immense Valentines Weekend in Edinburgh with Dan, Tobi, Helge and Esther. Spent more time in a taxi than I have done in my whole life, bought food that the ratio of expensiveness to quantity was of a poor effort.

Climbed 279 steps of a tower. Visited the galleries and museums, forgotten ID twice (even when I wasn't having alcohol...), had pillow fights, listen to a German's "horror story"...

Oh the list goes on, this weekend was good! Thanks to the two Germans, Norweigan and Dan from Wigan :)

The longest railway station name in the UK. I'm not even going to attempt to spell it out, so I'm relying on wikipedia for this.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, or "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave" in Welsh. It was artificially contrived in the 1860s to bestow upon the station the honour of having the longest name of any railway station in the United Kingdom: an early example of a publicity stunt. The village's own web site credits the name to a cobbler from the local village of Menai Bridge. According to Sir John Morris-Jones the name was created by a local tailor, whose name he does not give.

I often forget to take the bins out for collection until late in the evening.

I am going to have the sexiest bridesmaids in the world.

Today's Project365 photo is of one of the locations of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale (BIFB11).

I went to a few of the exhibitions today around town and really enjoyed the work of Maggie Diaz www.ballaratfoto.org/bifb11/diaz.html

Her photos are candid moments in time. No posing of her subjects and shot in black and white.

I'm a big fan of Vivian Maier's street photos from 1960s Chicago and New York and Diaz's work reminds me a lot of it, but in Chicago and Australia during the 60s.

The BIFB is on until mid September, so if you like photography and are nearby.. make sure you go and see some of the fantastic exhibits.
