When Cameron was at archery this morning I did a bunch of routine things like gettting my hair cut, then went for a wander around Beecraigs Country Park. While there, I was struck by how the commercial forestry area looked with its rows of trees.
In some ways it looks as if the trees that make up the edges are paying homage to the one at the end of the corridor... All hail the king! All hail the king!
Today's Project 365 is of my Russian Kiev 30 that arrived yesterday.
Built similar to the original Kiev, feels solid and has a little weight to it.
I really like this one
From sovietcams.com
In a camera very little larger than its predecessor, the format is increased about 25% to 13x17mm on unperforated 16mm film. Same lens, same viewing angle, different format. The calculator disk is moved to the rear, near the viewfinder window, now featuring a round window instead of rectangular, as used on the Vega [3].

This was the reason -- the ONLY reason -- I was able to get out of bed this morning to return to work after my five-day weekend. Behold iPig! WOOOOOOOO! Since getting my iPod nano, I've had an untenable playing/charging situation at work, where I was hooking the iPod up to a stone-age set of speakers and couldn't charge it at the same time it was creating the sweet, sweet music that helps me get through my day. So I asked Pookie for a small speaker/charger desktop solution for my birthday. I had visions of some simple little device, so imagine my surprise when she found the adorable, highly functional, really, really, really cool iPig. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

Okay, this is MY Project365, and I'm running it by MY rules.
Today, I ran a 7.5mile road race in Dunblane in the teeth of strong winds, and my Dear Daughter and Dear Wife were kind enough to stand at the finishing line and wait for me. So since this picture, taken by Jenni, was of me, I claim it as a legitimate part of MY project 365.
This is me finishing, in a time of 1:02:47, position 137 out of 254 finishers. If I look knackered and flat footed, there's a good reason for that :-)
Weather conditions were not great. A strong wind blew in our faces for a good part of the run, and I have to admit I struggled to keep focus for such a long run. An incomplete GPS track is at www.endomondo.com/workouts/12159229
Anyway, thanks to the organisers for a meticulously organised race - I really enjoyed it. The ultimate goal for all of this is the Glasgow Half Marathon on 4-Sep... but the short term goal is a warm bath and a nice glass of wine!
This afternoon was spent doing an emergency repair on a Client's server.
8 hrs later and it looks like it is fixed and ready to go back on site in the morning.
For today's Project 365 pic, all I want to do now is open up one of these little beauties.... but I have a rule about drinking on a school night ;-) Cordial it is then....
I was totally unprepared for tonight's Project 365 pic.
I picked up a hard drive cable on my way out the door instead of my remote and also forgot my lens hood, so unfortunately have ended up with some flare off the street lights.
I love this building, it is the former National Mutual Insurance Company Offices built in 1905. You can also see Town Hall in the right of the picture.
If you look a the large version, you can see one of the apartment residents looking down. www.flickr.com/photos/deanog/5960882378/sizes/l
From ballarat.com
This building was designed by J. J. and J. E. Clarke who were also the architects of the Queen Victoria Hospital and the City Baths in Melbourne. The octagonal roof structure originally carried a large dome. The style is reminiscent of Venetian Gothic buildings.
Today's Project 365 pic is from this morning when some very low level cloud was moving very fast across the sky.
My parents had some strong winds overnight, so the tractor will be busy in the next few days clearing up some fallen tree limbs.
The Oxford English Dictionary's word (phrase?) of the year for 2011 is "the squeezed middle". First used by the Labour party leader, Ed Miliband, it refers to the large section of UK society that is too poor to thrive in a market economy, but too rich to rely on state benefits and how they are being squeezed at both ends by the economic recession.
Perhaps the defining issue of 2011?
It was 4 seasons in one day in Ballarat today, so I stayed inside all afternoon and listened to some vinyl.
I'm not one of those audiophiles that bang on about how vinyl is a much richer sound, pops, crackles, blah blah blah.. I just wanted to listen to some stuff that isn't in my MP3 collection.

A random masquerade mask I found in the lunch room at work. I am not really sure if I like this one, I was going to go for a walk at lunch to take photos but it was raining.
Couldn't really think of anything, wanted to go to sleep, so I just took a picture real quick. Its nothing special. :(

We went into town and bought some books. I bought The Fault in Our Stars and Wreck This Journal. There was a nice wind.
...more days to go of project365.
I remember being small and looking at my hand enveloped in the hand of my dad. Mine was so pudgy and smooth, and my dad's hand was old and covered with wrinkles. It fascinated me that my skin would change in such a way.
I look at my hands now, and wonder how I came to be this age, and how quickly time will continue to pass.
My monkey's little hands look so smooth and young now when I hold them in my own.
A year ago, I told him I hoped he'd never be too big to hold my hand. Now, he twists his hand out of mine when we cross the street. Too cool to be seen holding his mom's hand.
Guru's feet:
The Indian scriptures revere the Guru's feet, which are said to embody Shiva and Shakti, knowledge and action, the emission and reabsorption of creation. Powerful vibrations of shakti flow from the Guru's feet. They are a mystical source of grace and illumination, and a figurative term for the Guru's teachings.
We are all our own Guru on this path.
Day 169: I went out shooting with jon to the pond near by (at the office park i often visit for photos) and the pond was drained for repairs. With most of the water pumped out..we found many interesting shots.
By popular demand. Here the set of some of the stuff we found
