This evenings Project 365 photo is of the sunset from View Point at Lake Wendouree.

The cannon in the foreground is one of a pair on View Point.

Not sure on the history of them, most likely War trophies that were distributed to towns after WWI. There are several other cannons around the lake, one near the POW memorial and some more near Pipers Restaurant. There were also some Howitzers that were captured from the Germans during WWI in a nearby Caravan Park, but they were removed a couple of years ago for restoration.

Took a Sunday morning stroll to Windsor. The clouds darkened as I reached Eton just before a downpour. I'm going to buy myself a water proof jacket for these walks as I got soaked.

Two vintage Asian bowls from my china cabinet.

Jan 12 - This example of Shepherd Fairey's work was photographed in Harvard Square. He has a bit of a history in the Boston area - on one hand, the city's Institute of Contemporary Art calls him one of today's most influential street artists and hosted his first museum exhibit (Supply & Demand) last year.

On the other hand, he was arrested by Boston police on the evening of his exhibit's premiere on outstanding graffiti warrants (he is now on probation for those charges).

Day 263, unremarkable other than the day that Apple's latest fan-boi fondleslab arrived.

Even when she's in a strop, Nya looks cute.

the new dolphins icecube tray that magie_05 @LJ sent me in the mail! (she's so awesome, omg). I'm kind of amassing a collection of unconventional ice cube trays. I bought a 'dentures' one at the bodies exhibit, to go with my titanic one (with mini-icebergs of course!) and the lego bricks one.

(Project 365 Day 14)

Forgot to take a picture today, so this will have to do. :P

Apr 14 Today has been a really rough day (a tad tougher for Monty by the looks of it). Before I ran into Monty at the pub, my pic was going to be a dirty alloy wheel. So Monty's life wasn't completely in vane.

Let me show you the key of my people.

Love golden hour

Okay, this is MY Project365, and I'm running it by MY rules.

Today, I ran a 7.5mile road race in Dunblane in the teeth of strong winds, and my Dear Daughter and Dear Wife were kind enough to stand at the finishing line and wait for me. So since this picture, taken by Jenni, was of me, I claim it as a legitimate part of MY project 365.

This is me finishing, in a time of 1:02:47, position 137 out of 254 finishers. If I look knackered and flat footed, there's a good reason for that :-)

Weather conditions were not great. A strong wind blew in our faces for a good part of the run, and I have to admit I struggled to keep focus for such a long run. An incomplete GPS track is at www.endomondo.com/workouts/12159229

Anyway, thanks to the organisers for a meticulously organised race - I really enjoyed it. The ultimate goal for all of this is the Glasgow Half Marathon on 4-Sep... but the short term goal is a warm bath and a nice glass of wine!

Day 337: My plan was to make a big pile of wire and try and use the lens baby to make something interesting, but none of those shots worked out to well. I decided on a minimalist approached

Finished a baby hat for charity. Knit in the round using scrap baby yarn.

Oct 29 Pub near where I work. It is right on the river Avon. Very nice!

I was taking sunset photos at the lake tonight when some rowers moved right in front of me.

Even though I didn't have time to change from the 50mm on the Sigma lens, I like the way they fill the foreground.

Spring and sunshine means the goal post is out in the garden.

My husband had to trade in our truck for a tour bus today.

It was 4 seasons in one day in Ballarat today, so I stayed inside all afternoon and listened to some vinyl.

I'm not one of those audiophiles that bang on about how vinyl is a much richer sound, pops, crackles, blah blah blah.. I just wanted to listen to some stuff that isn't in my MP3 collection.

Strobist info: M 1/64 ~1.5ft away

I tried to make background black, but don't know how. If the light is closer than that, the background is darker as in Strobist distance exercise, but it's too flashy and harsh. Am I missing something? How do people take totally black background with flash focus only on the subject without getting to 1ft and being too harsh on a small spot only? Snoot?

Day 356 – Happy New Year! #Project365

Couldn't really think of anything, wanted to go to sleep, so I just took a picture real quick. Its nothing special. :(
