Tonight's Project 365 pic is of the Recent Cinema/Theatre/Multiplex in Ballarat.

I have seen some great movies and performances here and everyone in Ballarat would have their own memories of things they have seen here too.

I had to shoot and run tonight, as there was a women's gym directly behind me and the ladies are a bit self conscious, even when the lens is pointing the other direction.

Decided not to include headlight streams in tonight's pic, since a lot of cars wait at the intersection to turn and the indicator lights did not come out too well.

Luckily there were no Harry Potter fans in the way either ;-)

The theatre was originally built in 1938. The design was one which was used nationally. The cinema comprised of 1 screen and seated 2100 people. During the war years there were a number of American troops who were stationed in Ballarat, and in early 1939 the Theatre incurred a major fire which burnt the theatre to the ground. Rightly or wrongly, the blame for the fire was levelled at the American troops.

However with the aid of the troops the Theatre was fully restored to its glory, and continued to be operated by Hoyts Cinemas until around 1964 when they decided to close all their regional operations.

The Theatre remained closed until the Anderson family headed by the late Jack Anderson purchased the building in 1974.

For the next 2 years the Anderson family painstakingly restored all the features of the Theatre to its original glory, reopening with “Gone with the Wind” on November 11th 1976.

I was checking my credit card statement online and noticed my bank is levying an unacceptably high transaction fee for purchasing items in Euros. I'm considering alternative options from this money grabbing bank.

Jan 2 Layover in Detroit airport before flying to London. What a beautiful airport! We spent 7 hours there and I didn't mind one bit.

this is a half-arsed art thing i was playing with. really it was just some pastels i was screwing around with while watching the old school sesame street dvds that my husband picked up for me for christmas. I don't know what i'll do with it; i'll possibly add more pastels to it and then use it as a base for something else, like seal it and use it as a notepaper or something.

Day 364 – The second day of building the platform bed. I still need to install the drawer slides, build the Head/footboard, build the drawer face frames/moldings sand, prime, and paint. It’s getting there. #Project365

Today's Project 365 pic is of Earth Hour 2011 in Ballarat.

The City decided to turn off the lights at Town Hall.

Someone forgot to tell the Hunchback in the bell tower to turn his off.

I don't 'celebrate' Earth Hour. It's not that it's a big steaming pile of advertising agency created wank... well kind of... but at least it's the perfect time to get some night shots of some Ballarat landmarks without the streetlights getting in the way.

it's been a productive day thus far.

Long weekends away are never long enough

Day 311: The warcraft warrior needs to be vigilant against attack at all times and ready to pounce when the opportunity arises. I was over at ed's for dinner and rhi played some warcraft III afterwards.

I hope you appreciate the effort I went to for today's Project 365 shot.

While doing a couple of test long exposures then a couple of proper ones, I nearly froze my ears off.
