Day 103: I decided to be lazy today and use my light box for a picture.

NOVEMBER02: I bought a book from Amazon that shipped out yesterday... and it was in my mailbox today. That was rather impressive, considering they said it was 3-5 days. Anyways, the book is "The Photographer's Eye" and talks about composition specifically with digital. From what I've read so far, it is an AWESOME book. Highly highly (and highly) recommended.

The second book is "Complete Digital Photography" which I also give the same recommendation. This one tackles photography from the technical perspective. The book doesn't take the "Complete" part of the title lightly... it covers everything from how light hits the sensor all the way to printing.

If you are serious about getting into digital photography, this is the perfect one-two combo. I don't think anything else will cover what these two together can this well.

My work. I am working on making "Hating Ophelia", which will be published soon. I am working on this project with Shane Peters.

I was taking sunset photos at the lake tonight when some rowers moved right in front of me.

Even though I didn't have time to change from the 50mm on the Sigma lens, I like the way they fill the foreground.

Spring and sunshine means the goal post is out in the garden.

I was totally unprepared for tonight's Project 365 pic.

I picked up a hard drive cable on my way out the door instead of my remote and also forgot my lens hood, so unfortunately have ended up with some flare off the street lights.

I love this building, it is the former National Mutual Insurance Company Offices built in 1905. You can also see Town Hall in the right of the picture.

If you look a the large version, you can see one of the apartment residents looking down. www.flickr.com/photos/deanog/5960882378/sizes/l

From ballarat.com

This building was designed by J. J. and J. E. Clarke who were also the architects of the Queen Victoria Hospital and the City Baths in Melbourne. The octagonal roof structure originally carried a large dome. The style is reminiscent of Venetian Gothic buildings.

its finally cold enough to wear warm pyjamas :3

Culver City, CA. 2024 Day 221

Today's Project 365 pic is from this morning when some very low level cloud was moving very fast across the sky.

My parents had some strong winds overnight, so the tractor will be busy in the next few days clearing up some fallen tree limbs.

It was 4 seasons in one day in Ballarat today, so I stayed inside all afternoon and listened to some vinyl.

I'm not one of those audiophiles that bang on about how vinyl is a much richer sound, pops, crackles, blah blah blah.. I just wanted to listen to some stuff that isn't in my MP3 collection.

We went into town and bought some books. I bought The Fault in Our Stars and Wreck This Journal. There was a nice wind.

Still playing catchup with my photo uploads!

today i found loads of my old photography things from college, these pictures are from my final piece, which was rhythm and cycles, my whole theme was alice in wonderland, and the rhythms and cycles involved were falling, time, money and making tea and jam tarts, i was really pleased with the end results, i thought it was a unique interpretation :)

First time I buy something from a Gashapon, I receive Sasha Blouse from the Shingeki no Kyojin series.

...more days to go of project365.

I remember being small and looking at my hand enveloped in the hand of my dad. Mine was so pudgy and smooth, and my dad's hand was old and covered with wrinkles. It fascinated me that my skin would change in such a way.

I look at my hands now, and wonder how I came to be this age, and how quickly time will continue to pass.

My monkey's little hands look so smooth and young now when I hold them in my own.

A year ago, I told him I hoped he'd never be too big to hold my hand. Now, he twists his hand out of mine when we cross the street. Too cool to be seen holding his mom's hand.

The birthday cake looked delicious but I couldn't have any as I'm off the sugar (pre-diabetic).

Early on 1st February, I discovered I hadn't taken a photo on the 31st, and the only footage I had was a couple of seconds I'd captured for 1SE (1 Second Everyday, which I stopped at the end of January). This is a screenshot taken from that video... sorry, it'll have to do!

Guru's feet:

The Indian scriptures revere the Guru's feet, which are said to embody Shiva and Shakti, knowledge and action, the emission and reabsorption of creation. Powerful vibrations of shakti flow from the Guru's feet. They are a mystical source of grace and illumination, and a figurative term for the Guru's teachings.

We are all our own Guru on this path.

Day 169: I went out shooting with jon to the pond near by (at the office park i often visit for photos) and the pond was drained for repairs. With most of the water pumped out..we found many interesting shots.

By popular demand. Here the set of some of the stuff we found

To my mind, when you're done, you're done. No encores. Now you would think someone with that belief system would try to wring every drop out of life, but I'm afraid I still waste way too much time laying around the house watching stupid TV. But what I don't do is sacrifice my current life for a future reward.

I was reading something on Facebook yesterday that said my beliefs would preclude me from holding elected office in several southern states.

Catching up.... Somehow I managed to miss uploading these pics!

Rough day for the Fean pups; Quinn had four shots and didn't even wince and Crosby had tubes put in for the second time and his adenoids removed. With that said, ice cream was the theme of the day.

You may remember the flowers on the thuya bushes www.flickr.com/photos/elwillo/4547585930/in/set-721576231...

Well, the flowers are gone and the tiny cones they produced have opened releasing the seeds. The cones drop off leaving the trees ready for next year.

Since the trees are on paving, there is little chance of any of the seeds germinating. It does create work though having to sweep them up.
