Wegen Problemen bei Go Ahead Bayern gibt es aktuell (bis voraussichtlich Halbjahresfahrplanwechsel im Juni) zwischen Aalen und Donauwörth Ersatzverkehr, dabei kommen unterschiedlichste Loks mit n-wagen zum Einsatz. Neben einem Umlauf mit 425 sind es meist die Baureihen 111 sowie 143 welche die Ersatzzüge ziehen. Nachdem beide 143er jedoch schon nach recht kurzer Zeit kaputt gingen sprang auch die Bayernbahn Gmbh ein dessen 140 850-9 den Ersatzzug DPN 63061 nach Aalen zog. Mittlerweile dürften die Einsätze der Bayernbahn am Ersatzverkehr Vergangenheit sein und die 4 Umläufe mit 2mal 143, einmal 111 sowie einem 425 bestückt sein.

Esta toma es fruto del azar más absoluto. Estaba esperando en sentido contrario el tren de media distancia de Valencia-Zaragoza Miraflores cuando he oído el ruido desde el interior del túnel. Me he imaginado que sería un mercancías. He desplazado mi punto de observación con rapidez, y este el el resultado. La locomotora 335-033 (Matilde) MEDWAY + TECO saliendo del túnel nº 13. Un túnel que veremos en más ocasiones, tanto con trenes 599 como 592. Sin embargo es una sorpresa esta locomotora, pues nunca nos la habíamos encontrado.
Por otro lado y dados los contrastes, la imagen es fruto de un stitch a fin de poder abarcar las áreas con mayor contraste. Supongo que una cámara con mayor rango dinámico no tendría esos problemas. En honor a la verdad la imagen no difiere prácticamente en nada de la original.
El túnel, por otro lado, es el último del Camino de Aragón en sentido hacia Valencia. Su longitud, basándonos en Google Maps la estimamos aproximadamente en 314 metros.

This shot is the result of the most absolute chance. I was waiting in the opposite direction for the medium-distance train from Valencia-Zaragoza Miraflores when I heard the noise from inside the tunnel. I imagined that it would be a freight train. I have moved my observation point quickly, and this is the result. The locomotive 335-033 (Matilde) MEDWAY + TECO coming out of tunnel nº 13. A tunnel that we will see more times, both with trains 599 and 592. However, this locomotive is a surprise, because we had never met it before.
On the other hand and given the contrasts, the image is the result of a stitch in order to cover the areas with greater contrast. I suppose that a camera with a higher dynamic range would not have these problems. In truth, the image differs practically nothing from the original.
The tunnel, on the other hand, is the last one on the Camino de Aragón in the direction of Valencia. Its length, based on Google Maps, is estimated circa 314 meters.

Alle bisherigen Versuche, das Snowball-Problem chemisch in den Griff zu bekommen, brachten nicht den erhofften Erfolg. Der Spezialentwickler für Fomatone hatte mit einigen früheren Chargen funktioniert, mit den letzten Chargen kam die Frustration zurück.
Versuche der letzten Tage deuten darauf hin, dass die aktuellen Chargen eine starke Überbelichtung nicht mehr verkraften. Um den Grad der Überbelichtung zu bestimmen, ist der erste Schritt ein konventionell entwickelter Print (normalerweise schätze ich die Belichtungszeit für Lithprints).

Nr. 1 Fomatone 132 (Charge 080348-01) in Meritol.
Nr. 2 eine mindestens 25 Jahre alte Charge Fomatone (014326/1 exp. X.2002) Überbelichtung für Lith 3,5 Blenden, (15+15+5+700 ml) Entwicklungszeit 8 Minuten.
Nr. 3 Fomatone 132 (Charge 080348-01) Überbelichtung +1,5 Blenden (30+30+10+600 ml) Entwicklungszeit 6,5 Minuten – Ergebnis: etwas farbiger als Meritol, aber kein wirklicher Litheffekt. Ein stärker verdünnter Entwickler (wie bei Nr. 2) würde zu einer längeren Entwicklungszeit mit erwartbarer Snowball Bildung führen.
Für eine höhere Farbigkeit wird eine längere Belichtungszeit benötig, was dann aber eine höhere Entwicklerverdünnung erfordert oder mehr bremsendes D.
NR. 4 Überbelichtung +2 Blenden (30+30+10+800 ml ) Entwicklungszeit 7 Minuten – Ergebnis: heftige Snowballs.
Fazit: Fomatone-Lithprints mit hoher Farbigkeit, wie früher selbstverständlich, sind zur Zeit nicht möglich.
Aus aktueller Fertigung bleibt also nur noch Foma Retrobrom für farbige Lithprints.
Nr. 5 Retrobrom 152 Überbelichtung 3 bis 3,5 Blenden (30+30+10+800 ml) Entwicklungszeit 10 Minuten – auch bei diesem Papier können sich Snowballs zeigen, allerdings erst bei längeren Entwicklungszeiten, oder stärkerer Überbelichtung.
All previous attempts to chemically solve the snowball problem have not been as successful as hoped. The special developer for Fomatone worked with some earlier batches, but with the latest batches, frustration returned.
Tests conducted over the last few days indicate that the current batches can no longer cope with severe overexposure. To determine the degree of overexposure, the first step is to produce a conventionally developed print.

No. 2 A batch of Fomatone at least 25 years old (014326/1 exp. X.2002) Overexposure for lith 3.5 f-stops, (15+15+5+700 ml) Development time 8 minutes.
No. 3 Fomatone 132 (batch 080348-01) overexposure +1.5 f-stops (30+30+10+600 ml) development time 6.5 minutes – result: slightly more colourful than Meritol, but no real lith effect. A more diluted developer (as in No. 2) would result in a longer development time with expected snowball formation.
A longer exposure time is required for higher colour saturation, but this then requires a higher developer dilution or more slowing Lith D.
No. 4 Overexposure +2 f-stops (30+30+10+800 ml) development time 7 minutes – Result: severe snowballs.
Conclusion: Fomatone lith prints with high colour saturation, as was once commonplace, are currently not possible.
This leaves only Foma Retrobrom for colour lith prints from current production.
No. 5 Retrobrom 152 Overexposure 3 to 3.5 f-stops (30+30+10+800 ml) development time 10 minutes – snowballs can also appear with this paper, but only with longer development times or stronger overexposure.

ONR train 207 rerailed after hitting a rural road crossing thick with packed down snow and ice jumping a unit off the rails.
During the very early hours of this morning, Aurizon train 9819, led by 2313D and 2315D had a fire on board one of the locomotives which caused it to fail. The train as seen was stranded on the mainline just below the crest of Baking Board Hill. Rescue locomotives were sent from Willowburn Yard, Toowoomba, and they arrived around 1140. The several hours delay caused a choke on traffic with 9821 stranded in the Cameby Downs Mine, Columboola, train 9L10 in Chinchilla and train 9L12 at Macalister. Watco's livestock train 67S3 was also east bound on the wrong side. 9L12 couldn't travel on to Warra as the loop there has a railway crossing on it at the western end.
Start with our families, of course we don't always agree, but we do really love one another right? Which means there must be a solution to the problem so let's sit down, talk it over quietly, appreciate and respect one another and find
a mutual solution that satisfies everyone. Realizing that we all have to give a little. Continue on into the work environment and make the same changes.
If we the people can do this in our homes and work environments then surely we can make the change in villages, cities, states, provinces and countries, finding a way to stop the worst evil of all, WAR!

During my preparations for a trip to Bryce Canyon, I chanced upon a hidden gem, Red Canyon. Nestled en route to Bryce, this lesser-known state park boasts a handful of hiking trails and a cozy campground. The particular trail that caught my eye was described as a showcase of Utah's unique red rock formations. Having already visited Bryce, I anticipated a similar sight, albeit with a twist.
Little did I know that Red Canyon would be a delightful surprise. The rocks here, a striking shade of red, outshine even the famed hues of Bryce, which lean more towards orange. The trails, though steep and technical, offered a thrilling adventure. Arriving well past sunrise, I had to be cautious not to overexpose the vibrant reds in my photos. In fact, it was a rare instance where I had to desaturate my images during post-processing.
