I absolutely love exploring along this creek, which has fascinated me since I was young. I've always loved water. I love to look at it, be around it and swim/wade in it. I've never swam in this particular creek though. I usually stick to pools.
The view has changed some in the name of progress. Some of the trees across the water have been cleared away for a new business moving into town. I do not know what that business is yet. They are still doing dirt work.
Since it was a 'brown dirt 'sort of day, I also decided to process some of the photos in black and white, using the various contrast modes that Adobe Photoshop Elements offers.

Had this model in younger days and now it's come home to roost. Popular 110 film camera... easy load... just point and shoot. Complete with original box (love the packaging), Magic Cubes (used) and flash mount stem. Thems were the dayz! May give this one a try just for fun! Shooting 110... hmmmm....

After getting an underwater-capable, shock proof/freeze proof and very tough pocket camera for my birthday in June, it still took me nearly two months to be brave enough to actually put it in water. I knew I needed to do it before the summer came to an end. Since it has a one-year warranty, next summer would be too late.
Wow, it was so fun! I picked the perfect night to take it to the pool since preparations were underway for a "Back to School Bash" that included a lot of beach balls of all shapes and sizes for me to photograph.
There's another shot in the comment box and behind this one in my photostream. These two shots are the only ones I've processed so far. I hope to post more before summer becomes a distant memory.

So, as I promisse, here is the magic box that made me fall in love with photography in my childhood. My mom had one just like this one and allowed me to took some snapshots. I remember how wonderful it was to look trhough the tiny viewfinder, even without pull the trigger, just put one eye and see that fantastic world inside the viewfinder. That world definitely wasn’t the same real world that I used to saw before my eyes. The original camera was lost, but I meet this one last year and brought ‘her’ home. Oh, how marvelous it will be if I could back to these days and feel again the same pure and innocent emotions I felt when we first met…

My daughter's birthday is coming up and she wanted a camera that takes good photos. All she has is her cell-phone so I bought her a used Olympus XZ-1 in great shape. I even added a Flip-Bac grip for the front and a self closing lens cap.
I do have to admit that I seriously considered not giving it to her once I got it and started playing with it. It's a very nice advanced compact camera! She'll be happy...and I'll be searching for another for myself.

This is the Stavros S Niachros and it's 60 metres tall, its here for the seventh annual Barry waterfront festival along with a couple of merchant ships..
\The ships are mainly crewed by youngsters desperately in need of exactly what they get - a life changing experience...
The tall ships are used by the TSYP charity (Tall ships youth trust) to develope the interpersonal skills of young people.... They take them from their environment, which may involve broken homes, trouble with the police etc and teach them to be team players and have great fun along the way.
Threw a roll of long expired Vericolor II type S in a point and shoot camera on a summer trip to disneyland. Since the film was non DX coded the Canon sure shot read exposed it at ISO 25 which turned out pretty well for a 30 year old film. developed at home in the Unicolor kit from Freestyle
