This little treasure was in my very large stash of photos I wanted to post to Flickr. I'm glad I found it!
This was taken on a late fall walk in November of 2011.
Pocket camera for 110 film. Made in Japan for the American market during the 1970s. A very charming camera in my opinion...
I must have been about 11 years old, when my father gave me this camera. He got me enthusiastic about photography and he owned a Ricoh-SLR himself. He also got me a bag, a battery-opperated flash and some filters. I made a lot of pictures with this little camera, I loved it... A few years ago I gave the camera to my son to shoot his first photos.
Last december my father suddenly died, only 66 years old and just a few months after my mother passed away. I was devastated for months and couldn't be happy anymore for a long time... Just being alone and making photos gave me some peace and rest..
A few weeks ago I bought my son, who is 11 years old now, his first digital camera, an Olympus FE-4030. He was so happy and excited about it, he has really become very enthusiastic about photography. That night he came downstairs in his pajamas and gave me back this camera telling me that my daddy would have wanted me to have this back again, since he learned me how to make photos with it when I was his age.... It immediately brought tears to my eyes, and I cried for quite a while...
Until that night I never realised that all this happened in the same period of our lives, and it brought back so many memories. Somehow there must be a purpose for all this, this event made it very clear to me...
Dad, wherever you are, I hope I make you proud, I love you and I miss you.....
Practicing music in the church sanctuary on this sunny evening in March 2012 was so peaceful and beautiful. The golden hour sunlight streaming through the stained glass was breathtaking. Combine that with wonderful music in an acoustically pleasing sanctuary and you have an awesome evening of worship and fellowship with friends.
Some new blooms stand out as they arise along the waters of Crooked Creek in late winter 2012. This is one of the first signs that spring is near. This is the color version of the photo.
Bought "new" for $40 at Pro-Tech in Alexandria VA.
They went out of business - good folks till the end.
Have only put 3 rolls through it and the battery is kaputt.

Bit lame I know, but I’m going out for diner tonight. And I took this pic with my new Panasonic LX3 pocketcamera. Still trying to get used to the point&shoot way of thinking and shooting through the viewscreen, but it’s a nice little camera.
and if you want to see Pixel playing fiercly here is a video
July 2007 seems like a long time ago...we were in Baltimore over July 4th and on through the weekend. We told ourselves we were taking a vacation, but really the purpose of our trip was to consult with doctors at John Hopkins. My husband was diagnosed with AN, acoustic neuroma or vestibular neuroma, on the 8th cranial nerve. The tumor (benign) was growing and would soon be exerting pressure on his brain stem. Not good. There had been a surgery to remove the tumor 20 years prior to it showing up again. The original location was near the ear drum and it is a common side effect to lose balance and hearing. The surgeon here, wanted to cut into my sweetie's head again...I was freaked out and discovered tons of information accessible online about AN, treatment options, side effects of the various "cures", and especially the risks involved with a surgery in that location. After the 1st surgery, he had about 6 weeks of recovery time, a 3 inch long scar above his hear, and loss of hearing in the ear closest to the tumor. There was no longer any of the nerve near the ear, only near the brain stem, which was the location of the regrowth.
After consultations with neurosurgeons at IU Med Center and John Hopkins, he opted to have a Gamma Knife treatment. He was back to work in 2 days, and felt as if he could have gone back the day after the procedure.
It has been 2 years now and today (since it is past midnight) will be another MRI to see if there has been any more growth. It stopped growing after the treatment, and the 3 MRI's before todays have shown no growth.
I am praying, wishing, and hoping that this MRI is the same as those.
We did manage to enjoy the sites, and the wonderful food during our stay in one of our nations oldest cities.

Threw a roll of long expired Vericolor II type S in a point and shoot camera on a summer trip to disneyland. Since the film was non DX coded the Canon sure shot read exposed it at ISO 25 which turned out pretty well for a 30 year old film. developed at home in the Unicolor kit from Freestyle
Kassidee was my ex-girlfriend's daughter and Autumn was her friend who was sleeping over.

My daughter's birthday is coming up and she wanted a camera that takes good photos. All she has is her cell-phone so I bought her a used Olympus XZ-1 in great shape. I even added a Flip-Bac grip for the front and a self closing lens cap.
I do have to admit that I seriously considered not giving it to her once I got it and started playing with it. It's a very nice advanced compact camera! She'll be happy...and I'll be searching for another for myself.

I have learned that I need to look for more clues about what a certain plant/tree is when I photograph it.
I took these shots in 2012, on April Fools Day, but did not get any good shots of the bark or other possible identification aspects.
I am between Box Elder or Sugar Maple, according to a post and discussion between Flickr friend Deborah Platt (TrekOhio.com) and another Flicker member, Tatters*, who runs a flower identification group. Link below ...
