Pink flower that I can't remember the name of! At a family picnic at my brother's house and these were in bloom. Had to snap a few pics!! Fall 2007.
Felt particularly uninspired today, esp after a busy day at work...this rather mediocre macro shot sums that feeling up.

My photo is a little late, but better late than never. :)
This little dragonfly loved my pink float over the weekend, and at one point I thought we were going to do "battle" over who got to lay on it!
A few flowers stemming from a bush of the many pink flowers at the Butterfly Conservatory. This would be my favourite photo.
Not sure what these small flowers are called - they seem to grow with perhaps three of these flowers in a cluster. Yep, bought from my usual place, LOL. Later: thanks so much to *Kevin45* for the ID and link - much appreciated!
Needed some bright colour this evening, after being out in "winter" in the mountains. It was beautiful there, though. A friend had invited me to go with him to search for White-tailed Ptarmigan in the Highwood Pass area, Highway 40, Kananaskis. SO much snow has accumulated up there, and snowshoes or skis is the only way to "travel", unless you walk along the edge of the highway, which we did for just a very short distance. No sign of those white birds with the tiny, black, beady eyes, though.

Red campion (Silene dioica) is a flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae, native throughout central, western and northern Europe, and locally in southern Europe. It is a herbaceous biennial or perennial plant, with dark pink to red flowers, each 1.8-2.5 cm across. It flowers from May to October. The plant grows to 30-90 cm, with branching stems. Red campion grows in roadsides, woodlands, and rocky slopes. It prefers to grow on damp, non-acid soils.
