Pink Gerbera, blossom closeup. Taken at the "Bundesgartenschau" 2011 in Koblenz.
Funny enough, this was exactly 2 years ago.
Pink isn't normally my favorite color, but for this flower I can make an exception. It just feels saturated with lusciousness.
Our house is so often covered in flowers.
I liked the way the pink was picked out by the light beyond here.
Wanted to get as much as possible in focus without loosing too much sharpness. f/22 seemed to do the trick.
Made for the QQ Postcard (November) swap. The shapes were vlisofixed to muslin. This made the fabric very stiff for the embroidery. Next time I will try a different fusing agent. The two blue braids were painted with Setacolor. The threads include silk ribbon, silk and cotton stranded thread, pearl thread and a metallic thread. The marbled fabric is a bit of the silk scarf that has been on my work hat for y> 10 years and has recently been replaced.
this is part of a metal pelican sculpture near the jetty at Woody Point.I have shot close, changed the hues and colour tones and cropped tighter for an abstract feel
My geraniums are budding quite heavily so I'm looking forward to lots of gorgeous pink flowers. They are quite tiny and pretty tricky to photograph as closely as I'd like to, even using "supermacro" on the camera. I'm trying to get some good enough shots to enlarge and frame for my loungeroom walls.
