Saw this pretty pink flower, and I had no idea what it is.

Every time I post a photo of this flowering tropical plant, I still don't know the name of it and I'm also never sure whether to call it pink or red. Taken in the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo on 30 September 2011.

Every year Craig (my fiancé) successfully manages to cultivate amazing beauty bloom by bloom into our backyard ponds. This is our amazing pink lotus he started from seed several years ago. It blooms faithfully, bright and pink every year.

But not without his TLC I might add ;)

We actually have 10 lotus blooms total between the 2 ponds this year!
