I did this Personal Project on butterflys and flowers two things I really like.

My final research board for submission; a combined mood and concept board for a project I carried out entitled ‘Unidentifiable.’ Reflecting a personally generated concept, followed by a visual communication of my thoughts; this work was entirely independent, which allowed me to explore and develop my creative capacity even further.

“Coming to Canada has been a wonderful experience so far. But getting here has not been easy. Having to leave your loved ones behind and moving out of your comfort zone in order to grow is very difficult. For example, yesterday was the Persian New Year and because I am new, I don't know many people here so I was all alone. Not having your fiancé and family to celebrate the occasion with made me feel very lonely. I guess things like that aren't really what others see from the outside; as a student living in Canada, the journey hasn't always been easy or smooth. Without my fiancé, I feel that there is something always missing. However, I am still happy persuing this path to finish my masters in journalism despite the hardships ahead. I know that at the end, it will all be worth it. Hopefully soon my situation will change once my fiance comes to Canada in a few months.” Reza came from Iran to Canada in summer of 2017 as an international student. He will be completing his masters in journalism at the University of Regina in August. Photo by Madina Azizi.

Amanda Schulz is 24 and plays for the Regina Rage Rugby Team. Pictured playing in the annual Snow Sevens Rugby Tournament Fundraiser, she ended up a bit covered in show and her team did poke fun at her a bit for being as pale as snow. Even though, she played a tough game. Photo by Heidi Atter.
